"Dealer Delivery" is an onroad cost.... is that also excluded?

I mean, the RRP for that configuration (manual right?), is $56,310 - so that's a $2320 discount. But dealer delivery is another big place where they discount too... so excluding onroads from the equation doesn't really make sense if you want to compare with what people have been quoting in their posts here....

Unless you already have included dealer delivery.... the standard in QLD appears to be $2995 (based from VW's site), so that would mean a $5315 discount. Once you then took into account the taxes and onroads, it could actually make you the highest discount ever posted here for an R.

I was quoted dealer delivery in my quote - so I think the ORC part would be around $2,500 in QLD - so effectively would make my drive away price around $56,490 give or take a few hundred. U agree??

Not dealing in Brisbane mate, Brisbane dealers are HOPELESS!!!!!!! I have delt with three in Brisbane - ****house service, minimal to nil discounts offered so i have decided to look in Melbourne and Sydney - worth the trip I reckon

QLD Stamp Duty on $53990 (inc dealer delivery) would be $1620. Registration is $317.45, CTP is $337 and plates are $23.45, so $677.90. Effectively making your onroads (minus dealer delivery and GST which was already in your first figure) $2297.90 - so "driveaway price" is $56,287.90 (RRP Drive Away Price $62,226.60 - Total Amount Saved $5,938.70 - Percentage Saved 9.54%)

If you wanted European plates, these are $595, that'd make your onroads $2869.45 and drive away price would be $56,859.45 (RRP Drive Away Price $62,798.15, Total Amount Saved $5,938.70, Percentage Saved 9.46%)

Was quoted off the bat $53,990 EXCLUDING onroad costs - stampduty/rego etc.

Whats your thoughts on this quote? I have seen a few guys around here quoted lower the past few days

I agree, Brisbane is terrible for trying to obtain any reasonable discount on an R. I did not receive one quote with the discounts being listed from NSW, Vic & WA.

The only differences I had were ACC and DSG which is another 4k on top so 57990 and then dealer delivery and stamp rego ontop - lets call that 5k so 62990 so its almost the same as what I paid - grand less but I live in the middle of nowhere so I'll cop a bit extra on the chin

Just a quick question re Chassis Control option - How did you guys felt the car drove with 19's and no Chassis Control?? Was the car hard, or uncomfortable?? Im just debating whether to spend the $1500 and get the ACC fitted.

I haven't driven an R without ACC. I've driven a GTI with and without ACC though.
The thing about ACC is, that "normal" is not the same as not having ACC. ACC monitors the suspension 1000 times per second, and adjusts valves to suit the conditions with the aggressiveness based on the "comfort, normal, sport" settings. ACC cars have less body roll and better chassis etc than a stock non-ACC car.

As for whether it'd be uncomfortable without ACC - "comfort" is a personal thing. Reviews have said that it was uncomfortable on 18" wheels so to avoid the 19's no matter what! Others have said the 19's were great....

I opted for 19's without ACC after taking one for a drive and feeling that the ride comfort and quality was better than my WRX that i currently had so felt there was no need to have the ACC.

After reading many reviews about ACC i wish i did choose the option now, mainly due to the fact that it will add an extra dimension to how the car handles in different driving situations depending on what setting you have it on.

At the end of the day though i know i am still going to be very impressed with the standard handling and feel of the car when it eventually arrives.

Ah cool - well 3-4k is still acceptable when I thought it was around ten I was getting a bit antsy...just the premium one pays for living in the Tropics!
