Yeah mine took 6 days inc the weekend from arriving at docks to dealer which completely surprised me.

Hi, I ordered a 118TSI on 20 th April and it seems that the dealer somehow swapped a previously ordered car with the assessories that i wanted. I was not due to receive the car until Nov. - Dec.

Anyhow i have rang today and received the following info. from the Dealer and by looking on the internet.

Car booked ? on 23-6-2011 - 14.36 PM at Bremen (i don't know what booked means)

Received at Terminal on 24-6-2011 - 10.47 AM at Bremerhaven Port

Loaded on vessel 26-6-2011 - 10.47 AM at Bremerhaven. Vessel : UNDINE Voyage : CO118-UND

Arrives Fremantle on 3-8-2011

Melbourne on 9-8-2011

Port Kembla on 11-8-2011

Brisbane on 14-8-2011

I asked the dealer if it was a MY12 car and he did not know what i meant. He checked and it has blue tooth and Ipod as standard so i assume it is MY12.

VIN number WVWZZZ1KZCP004028

Since MY12 was to start on week 22, do you think my car will be a MY12.

Yes, i would say it is MY12. The only reason i am saying this is because it has BT and MDI as standard.

Hey langers ! So your car docked in Sydney and in 6 days it was at the dealer wow! My car was offloaded in port kembla yesterday but will be sent up to the gold coast dealer I purchased from! I'd be so happy if mine took such a short period of time like that !

Aaarrgh just got an email from my dealer, its been pushed back to 16th December...goes into production on 10th October.

Actually as I typed that does that sound like a reasonable amount of time to go from starting production to being delivered to Australia?

Hmm, that is poor news sorry to hear it. Nine months is ages. Mine has taken 6 months almost to the day. Why the extra three I wonder.

Mine started build on May 10th and in Sydney docks on July 21st so your timeframes are just about correct. Once you have a confirmed Build date its clockwork....

Interesting, could be your problem, they haven't been producing any 3 door R's since MY12 kicked in. Wasn't it discontinued cos the Rocco is coming?

Yeah they were discontinued not long after I ordered mine, basically I was told they are doing one run of MY12 3 doors for Australia then thats it. I've seen the order in NADCOM so I'm happy that it should still go through, I just think VW can't make up their mind when they are going to do them.

Well then. Astoundingly my six month long wait from order to delivery ends tomorrow when i pick up the R. Thanks to you all for making the wait easier. I can confirm that the time does indeed pass.
