ive seen at least 10 different R's in the melbourne area, probably in excess of 15 including my trips south of melbourne! and id say ive seen close to double that of the GTI's. its amaizing how many VW's are out there now, especially the MK5 Golfs, it seems for every 20 cars on the road there is at least one VW .

Around my neck of the words every fourth car is a Golf.

Only seen 2 other R's in my suburb though.

I ordered mine in November, for an April delivery which was pushed out to Jan 2012, now they tell me September 2011. Not fair and Im seriously jealous.

My dealer just called - he tells me the car is due in the dealership next Thurs or Fri, they need a couple of days for PD so I can have it early the week after, say March 7 or 8. Great... especially great seeing as though I have their loan car to drive. Let me know what your dealer tells you?

My car has been at the dealership since the 25th and is ready to be picked up
now im just waiting for the pick up/delivery manager?? to give me a call to arrange a time for me to come down and collect

the sales consultant gave me the report to show me that there were no damage during the transit

Great work mate... I hope you enjoy the car. Post some pics when you get it. Hopefully mine will be there at the end of this week, early next. Much as I like the loan car I find driving a DSG diesel Jetta a little underwhelming.

There are 2x Rising Blue coloured Golf R's at my work..........so glad im getting a United Grey one.

Sorry Rosie456 - wasn't saying that to try and tick anyone off (was just excited to share the news).

I asked the dealer the exact same thing as i was told June/July delivery when i ordered in December. My salesman said that the dealership already had an order in with VW for a new demo Golf R (so the order was already in the system) and when i placed my order they just changed the order (colour/specs etc) to suit my options. Then they placed a new fresh order for their demo car?????

So i was told that my car was built during February and is now on its was over to Australia.

Either way im stoked to be getting it in April instead of June/July.

I sincerely hope that you car arrives soon and you can start enjoying it.

For anyone who is awaiting the "queen sapphire" looks like the ship has Been sailing pretty fast.

It's docking here in Aus 2 days earlier.

Hopefully doesn't take too Long clear customs and get complied.

I've got one also in Carbon Steel, such a nice colour. It was the only manual GTI in stock so I took it vs waiting for a candy white 5dr.
