Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

        I just called the dealer AGAIN. Seems my car that was going to be at the dealership yesterday or today ISNT even in the country as yet. They have finally confirmed it is on the Morning Conductor and given me the VIN so I can track it myself. Update ETA for the ship is this Sunday and then they say 5-7 days to the dealership and three more to me so 20 March maybe for delivery.

        A bit frustrating considering I purchased the car on 30 Jan based on the proviso it could be delivered within a matter of three days, not seven weeks. On the bright side I do have their loan car...

        DAMN - due into Melbourne on 6/3 then VW need to get it to the dealer.... yikes.

          that sucks

          but lucky u have a loan car.. i didn't get one it was such a pain to live without a car for a few weeks!

              My car got off the boat yesterday in Melbourne. So now it needs to clear customs and VWA and then make the trip to Sydney for PD. I am actually driving to Melbourne the week after next and will probably drive past it either going down or coming back.

                I am confused. If your dealer is in Sydney, the car would get off the boat at Port Kembla, not Melbourne.

                  You'd think so wouldnt you? Apparently thats not the case. I didnt order the car - the dealer found one in stock so I guess it is being done by stock swap with either VWA before they send it to a dealer or with a VIC dealer. I suspect my dealer is playing ducks and drakes at the moment (see my earlier posts) but now I have a VIN and their loan car which I am driving so they can take their time. Especially seeing as though the loaner is diesel and fuel prices are so high currently. I will monitor this car and if no movement within a couple of weeks I think I will cancel my order and start again with something I can touch in stock.

                        It could be the order that my friend cancelled. We ordered the same time, unfortunately he ran into some difficulty and had to cancel his order early February. He was utterly upset that he had to lose this order having already waiting the same time as I did since November. I was tracking his VIN, since we ordered the same time, it got off the Morning Conductor on Sunday together with my GTI.

                        I hope you got a good deal for the car.

                              I ordered a 118 TSI in December 2010 (just after xmas). But my order is still "unscheduled"... and now told maybe June?!?! Yep this waiting game is oh so fun...
                              Ordered - Late Dec 2010 - Golf MKVI 118TSI - Manual - Amaryllis Red - Bluetooth - Sensors - Ski racks
                              ETA - May 2011 (I think it's on the Toreador as approx delivery to Melb is 10/5... so hopefully by end May I'll finally have it!)
