The Polo was definately rougher than I expected,
I'm referring to a Polo Club, which should have softer suspension than the GTI?

I'm not familiar with the Polo, it was our train station car, wasn't bought for performance

The R with 18's and no ACC is basically as comfortable as my Forester with 16" steel rims, before the coilovers went in.

Yeah, you had Polo Club, then Match, then GTI. Both the Club and Match would've had "regular" suspension and the GTI "sporty" suspension. However, as good as the Polo GTI is, it's still only a low cost car, and the suspension was very harsh... self destructively so

Hot damn. Ordered my 118tsi on 21st September and still haven't got a build date yet.

Slated delivery is in January, so hope something gets done by early December :\

Start ringing around other dealers (even interstate) and see if any of them have still got cars that they've had on order for ages already as "stock cars" so that you can grab the build slot that would hopefully exist for that car. O'h and perhaps to reduce the focus on a haggle if it's important to get a car ASAP

I am reluctant to pay RRP after having locked in a good price... I have spoken to other dealers and they won't budge on RRP now. I am not desperate for delivery, but think I will have second thoughts if it drags out to March...

Mate, even at RRP (or close to it), you're ending up with an awesome car and after spending a couple of hours in it, we'll all forget how much it cost.

Same here, I got an amazing price and have sold my previous car due to the deposit on the R. I want a Golf R and nothing else, so it looks like I have no choice here but to wait.

Guys, you can't do this anymore.
VGA deleted all orders in NADCOM that weren't allocated to contracts.
This was done to relieve the backlog in the system.

Maybe with our dollar being so strong and the Euro being so weak that by the time your car gets here, the RRP might even drop ! ....... Or VWA might make a bit more profit

That's not how it works, auto makers use currency hedging techniques so prices don't need to go up when the currency values change in one direction and they don't need to go down when the currency value changes in the other. You work for an automotive manufacturer so you should know this.

And you don't know what currency they are sold to us in either. It could be euro's, it could be US$ or something else.

Any thoughts on when i could expect it to arrive?

the signed contract states 1 april as proposed delivery date....
