Hi Mash welcome.
I ordered mine on August 13 and it is still sitting in NADCOM waiting for VGA to pick it up.
Each dealer is given a allotment each month.
Dealer say I might expect mine in March/April.
So April may be generous.

Also on order: Eibach Pro Kit suspension to be installed when it arrives

I have resisted the urge to contact the dealer since i signed the contract 2 weeks ago.

When should i start pestering to ensure the order has been placed in the system? (he confirmed on the day i signed that he had placed the paperwork in the proper place, whcih i assume means computer system and my credit card was charged the deposit)

I been pestering the dealer once a week - mine has a lady in charge of deliveries and her job is just to handle customers tracking cars coming in.

Just make sure a car is allocated and push for a VIN if its out of production

It's seriously not necessarily to "pester" your dealer once a week.
There's almost nothing they can tell you in the first month, and being updated once or twice a month after that should be enough for anyone....

Yeah after I got advice from here I gave it about 5 weeks from ordering before I contacted the dealer for production date info.

I was lucky enough to be assigned a slot they had previously ordered in June (apparently this no longer happens?) for a showroom R which they changed to suit my specs. My dealer was kind enough to email me a screen dump from NADCON so I could verify what I ordered was correct with VW in Germany. I was also able to see that I had been assigned a build date of Week 44 Day 1 so hopefully the car is finished now and will be loaded onto a ship very shortly! Now I'm just waiting on the VIN and for the car to hopefully be on the ship called "AIDA"

Anyone know how long their car took from production date to be loaded onto a ship and depart port in Germany?

Just be polite with your dealer and I'm sure you will have a better than average chance of getting the info you require

Ahh that explains it.. I ordered mine on Sept 28th but mine hasnt progressed.. I was trying to figure out why given your news

It took 13 days from the date i received my Vin # for my car to be loaded on a ship.

I reckon we should soon start up a new thread titled "Who's just wet their pants because you've been waiting so long for your car and the dealer has just rung to say it's ready to be picked up" !

I think we've got a bit of the "calm before the storm" happening at the moment on the forums because so many of us have cars on the water at the moment and there's nothing we can do about it but wait patiently.

Yep can't wait to hear peoples reactions esp to their R's and also pictures over the coming few weeks and months. Hopefully mine will be on a ship very soon as it should have been built now and I'm just waiting on a VIN number to be forwarded on to me from my dealer.
