Good ... it means that we (WA) are not disadvantaged as usual.
Heh. I reckon we usually do pretty well in WA in terms of state government infrastructure being competently managed. NSW and Victoria both sound like they're facing big problems as their population keeps increasing. Of course, they also have civilised things like supermarkets open in the evenings, so I guess it's not all bad over there

Yes, the alarm will go off if someone smashes the window, if you leave a pet of child in the car, or if someone tries to tow it away (although there is a button on the inside of the car on the drivers B pillar to disable the motion sensing etc - read the manual, it explains it all in there).
If the dealer has only given you 1 key, then they'll probably need to order and code a new one for you. They're about $380 from memory (of me reading about the last person on these forums who ordered one). So make sure the dealer does give you two!
Im in a spot of bother with future delivery for a new GTI, was told 6-7 month wait from one dealer and another dealer said 3-4 months...Mind you the dealer who said 3-4 months, gave me an offer that was very reasonable too...almost dropped a deposit....!
Whats everyone elses experience with price, availability and shipment wait...?
The price difference was nearly $3000.00 form three different dealers...?
I cant be without a car for a day let alone 3-4 months....
Oh im in melb...
Yup. Ordered one about...ummm....a week and a half ago. Was delivered last Thursday. Was in stock. Didn't have much choice on options in that it has every one VW offers..haha. They even installed an espresso machine in the boot....OK, really bad humour there. It was either that or no options at all. I lucked out though. Was the colour I wanted with a manual tranny.
Pricewise I saved almost $7k with the end of year clearance sale.
Ask them what's in stock. Even if it's in another state, they can get it to you. If you get it delivered before June 30th you save quite a bit. But, you might have to compromise some of the options you want. Some of them can be dealer installed though (18's, MDI, RNS).
Yeah, i went today and availability was GREY,DSG,ACC and 18"...
Mildura VW offered me the same car over the phone. but my heart is set on WHITE,DSG,ACC,LEATHER and BI XENONS....... and the only white one available is at camberwell, demo and dirty, driven by a mid 20's sales rep and no xenons for $53850.00 ...
So for a new one with xenons was a few thou less then the demo at camberwell, but a delay of 3-4 months?????

Ya, hence why I went with the optioned one. I wouldn't have waited 3 to 4 months for it. I still find that ridiculous. VW should ship manufacturing to Darwin!!
