The documentation they had prepared quoted "Model: 5K19V22/10" - apparently that's a 3 door.

Regardless, in this kind of circumstance Contract Law 101 means squat - would you want to buy a car from this mob? Me, I'd much prefer to take their contract documentation to another dealer and got them to match the deal.

If that's right, then the dealer is off the hook.

Contract law would mean everything if the dealer refused to honour the written quote (and it contained a correct vehicle ref).

Late July. The car is for my wife, I have an XF. She didn't want the GTI because of the ride and hence the Adaptive Chassis Control even on the TSI. I am paying $39,800.

Hope the wait is going ok, 'nicely spec'd' is what i meant to say, should be comfortable. The GTI with 18" ACC on Standard is firm but still comfortable (for me) and Comfort is very comfortable but everyone is different.

Thanks, I didn't have much say in it though ! Those were the options she wanted. It should be a cloud on the Comfort setting. She even thinks the XF is too firm (on 19ins) !

Mascot tried the "here's the written quote - we got a deal - yes - oops, sorry mate we did the pricing on a 3 door not a 5 door my manager says that'll be another $1500 thanks - what, don't tell me you're going to walk away for a measly $1500 - oh ok don't walk, my manager will honour the original quote" trick on me. I walked.

There are better dealers out there mate.

I merged your thread into this, as it seemed the best fit. I'm not sure what you mean by your post exactly. You haven't seen any 3 door GTI's? Where? On these forums? In pictures? At the dealers? On the road?

I've seen them in all those locations...
