Anyone scored any good deals of late? I've ordered a 5dr candy white gti, dsg, leather, mdi, tint + euro plates for $50,500. Judging by some of the prices on here that's not the best price? That was with corporate discount of $1500.

I still haven't had a delivery date confirmed yet though!

That config on the roads in NSW would be ~$52338.74 + your MDI cable (if you need one). So considering you're getting $1500 corporate discount they're only giving you about $340 discount, so it's not terribly great no...

I put that config at ~$49713.74 on the roads in NSW (+whatever the ipod cable is). So you're getting about $3k discount which is alright (unless you forgot to mention the DSG or leather, in which case it's great! hehe)

Ok, so after cancelling an order on a stock white 5 door dsg for 47500, and then being unable to secure a car with options (which i was told was in stock), i have settled for an order.

Black 5 Door, DSG, Leather, Sunroof, MDI 18" Detroits for 49725 drive away. Pretty stoked with the price.

Thoughts?

Using the calculator spreadsheet, I add that up to ~$55909 otr in NSW, so you're price gives you a ~$6184 saving which is absolutely fantastic!

The story is: I test drove a GTI at Denlo and fell in love with it, put a deposit on it and basically paid retail. When organising my finance, our company's finance guy arranged a super price for me with another VW dealer which basically equalled Denlos price but metallic paint, mdi, leather sunroof. Denlo were accomodating in refunding my deposit, and i put deposit on car with other company. Other dealer calls me a week later and says he cannot get car in stock (told me he had secured it via swap from other dealer) i cancelled with them and they refunded. I called back Denlo as they had been good to me with the initial refund. They matched the other dealers quote and added the detroits for about 350 extra.

Its been an interesting few weeks, but it think i came out on top and i am happy Denlo got the sale. I also bought my Polo GTI from Denlo and have full service history, so this may have helped with the deal. Dont expect them to do the same deal for everyone, it was a combo of things that sealed it, but more so the alternate quote from the other dealer organised by the finance guys who have huge buying power

Have stipulated 2010 build, being so close to year's end. Haven't been given delivery date yet, but dealer still believes Mar/Apr. I can only hope, especially with the number of orders presumably increasing. Wonder if 3 dr vs 5 dr makes a difference to delivery delay (ie. Probably higher demand for the 5 dr)?Being 198cm and no kids to bother with, 3 dr was obvious choice for me, as I end up sitting next to B pillar in most 4/5-door cars <lol> ...not great for side vision!

How much was your dealer delivery if you dont mind me asking?

Haha, not me, that was the other guy. I was just offering a comparison.

I'm perfectly well aware that I'd have to pony up a bit more coin for an optioned up golf. Lucky I'm not in the market at the moment.

P.S. IMHO as much as the Mazda is a nice car, the interior presentation of the Golf makes it look like a Getz by comparison.

Well according to the GTI cost spreadsheet the RR of that in NSW would be $60,709, so if you've got it for $52,600 thats around a 13% discount which is awesome!!! buy it now I say before they change their minds.
