How to track the car you have ordered?

it's amazing how you take having two cars for granted until you have only one.

Hubby has taken the second car to work today (he's been riding his bike), and I've been busy keeping the kids occupied. Luckily they're pretty good!
I just want my car back (well, not the bashed up one - the new one )

After my car was written off in Jan 09, I was carless until end of Apr 09.... it's even worse when you're a single car household!
Survived with a combination of public transport, borrowing cars, hiring cars, walking, riding my (push) bike, and carpooling

i had license suspended for 3 months before.. driving to work takes 15 minutes.. pub trans takes 1 hr......... i lose 1 hr's sleep for 3 months god that was horrible

When I sealed the deal with the sales guy - he told me that the car I wanted is on a ship and will be arriving in 2 weeks time. The next time I rang up - he said the system is down and he is unable to secure the car for me. He is away now on easter holidays and has passed this responsibility to his colleague. Now he is telling me that he can bring it in from another dealer but might be a 2009 model instead of a 2010! I wonder if I am being played out here... Does anyone know the difference between a 2009 and 2010 MK6 90 TSI DSG?

It will have the build date in the boot.

Sounds a little suss to me...
What did you order exactly (specs) and who from?

By the way - find out where the car came from... the last thing you want is one that's had hail damage fixed on it...

It might be better to wait and get a 2010 so you know what you're getting is indeed new...

Hey Nic! My car was affected by the hail too hence getting a golf! I have been following your posts.. and happy to hear that you will be getting a NEW CAR!

I ordered a Candy White 90 TSI DSG from Burwin - FTG. They were dealer of the year.. Doubt they will do anything dodgy but cant help to think otherwise. You are right - I definitely do not want a fixed hail damaged car hence a 2010 model would be better! Thanks for that tip - shall insist on a 2010 one.

I have been told there is a car matching my specs on a ship now for me. I have asked the dealer if he can provided me with the Vin number before i put down my deposit to confirm it is a January 2010 build car. He said it is all waiting for me so i can see before i sign.

I checked the W&W site. The car was discharged on the 24/3. It now has another field saying "Delivered From" on the 29/3. Does this mean it has been delivered to the dealer??

Hey Kennyc - that sounds like a great idea- your agreement with your dealer - I didnt know that you can actually view the car first before putting in a deposit. Which dealer did you go to? I will follow your steps next time and ask for a vin number before putting in a deposit!

Will i can view the vin number before i put down the deposit so he can prove that he has a car already. If they had to build one then of course i wont be able to view the vin.

I think you should go to one of the other threads and read up there (how to track the car you have ordered?)

Basically you cannot track the car you have ordered until you have a VIN number and the car is on a ship on its way here.
