Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.     my car was on board the toreador which docked in melbourne on the 6th

    I received a call from my dealer on that day saying that the car would be delivered in 3-4 weeks

      Yep Morning Carol on its way to Fremantle, then Melbourne, then Port Kembla.... Yay ... I am seriously thinking about heading down to the Port Kembla Harbour (10 minutes away) to watch it come in on the day/night, maybe take a few snap shots, a bit of video....

      Man - this is more like waiting for a baby no a car!

        Haha did the same a couple weeks back. There is public access at the "cut" the vessel will sail meters from you down a narrow canal.

          Dealer called me after the ship docked on the 6th. He's aiming to have the car ready by the 23rd! Fingers crossed!!!

                      Also to let you guys know, I just got my VIN number and an updated ETA schedule from Barloworld. My GTI that was ordered in first week of March is a week 18 build and has left Bremerhaven, Lager on the vessel 'Tamesis' yesterday. Its due to dock in Aus on 22/06/11. Looks like its going to be 4.5 month wait in total if the current pace is kept up (was originally told 6-7 months from order)!

                          hey mate, ahh awesome someone to share the wait with lol! and yes i noticed the 25/06 on the tracking website. Barloworld's ETA schedule has it docking on the 22/06 - lets hope its the sooner

                            Same... i wish it was hear faster... too bad our boat has to travel into US before coming back to Australia!!

                            I feel ur pain of the wait, however i have been waiting since December 2010

                              hmm yeah hopefully there aint any delays during the trip. ahh fair neough, thats still not too bad considering what ive read on here and heard from some friends.

                              i had a mate order an R in August last year and they kept delaying it well into 2011 so he ended up cancelling the order.

                              at least we are now on the home stretch, these last few weeks should fly.
