Did anyone have their car on the Oberon that's currently in Australian waters? My car was on it & got unloaded at Port Kembla on the 12th, but now that the tracking shows up as "Discharged" I'm at a loss to figure out where to look for my car. I guess it'll turn up at the dealer's in 2-3 weeks, but just thought I'd check to see if there's any one else who had their car on the Oberon. I still have to wait for a dealer car swap before the car starts its journey to Melbourne....

Once it's off the boat, there is no way that you can track it. All you can do is request an update from the dealer once a week...

yeah mines on the oberon too buddy, got told today patricks have not yet processed the inventory. my car has to come down to melbourne and he said end of june is looking quite realistic.Comment

I just checked my invoice and I don't have a VIN number on the invoice. The dealer told me the car is due to arrive at the end of July, early August at the latest. Should I be worried that they didn't put the VIN on the invoice? or is it standard for the dealer to only give it to you when/if you ask?Comment

My car has already been built. It's already in transit and it arrives at the end of July... so they tell me any way. Got the GTI today - most impressed. These things are such high quality and as they say the cockpit is like a cockpit and such a nice place to be in those leather seats. The drive back to the coast from Campbelltown was fun to say the least, so much to discover.....
Got my iphone paired via BT and I took a 4GB thumb drive with me and it works perfectly. The stereo sounds great! Oh! and the DSG sounds unreal - that flutter and blip/burple sounds great... feel like schuey...all I need now is a helmet!!! lol
The CW looks awesome - still might do the red strip grill striping though in black after I do the windows in 35% Octane...
Tried out the heated seats, cool! So many things to learn - going to be a fun journey of learning, cleaning, polishing and modding....
Now parked safely in my garage... I can see I am going to be paranoid at parking lots of where I park.....
BTW Nathan at Paul Wakeling was great to deal with. I got the right plates and he waited until I arrived and I put them on with double sided tape which he provided, some red gel like stuff. Bent the plates ever so slightly to suit the plate holder profiles and I must say the EURO white premiums fit PERFECTLY - they look like they were made for the car or vise versa.
Anyhow - Very happy chappy and thanks to Nathan, I would recommend him as a good dealer who is particular and does what he says he will do....
Hope all those waiting get their cars soon and are happy with the deal....

Are we still racing you langers? It's really a race between Hoops and langers on who picks there car up first being from NSW.Golf R, Rising Blue, 5 Door, DSG and some extra fruit.

I ordered my GTI late March and was expecting delivery around September. I received an email from the dealer last month claiming expected delivery late July! I enquired about its progress today (expecting it to have reverted back to September...) and was given my VIN number and vessel!
It's on the TOSCANA and left Europe last month, due to arrive in Melbourne on 26th June!!! Allowing 3-4 weeks before delivery means they were pretty much spot on.
Looks like I'll miss out on the current APR sale though...Comment
