Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Lent it to my cousins to drive to Canberra as his Audi 80, I rebuilt, is leaking coolant from the worlds tiniest hole.

I am now driving one of these home.

But then on the weekend I will be driving this!

Haha thanks mate! Just realised however that under the right headlight, I didn't align the bumper to the right track so it's back to my garage

              • Yeah I had that issue.

Those headlights are designed for a standard MK5 bumper not the GT/GTI/Jetta bumper so there is one tab under the middle of the headlight that won't line up.

                No biggie

It's fine on the left though.. I'm gonna give it a go but it's no real eye-sore for the car...

                      • most people get them from TMTuning.
that's where mine will be coming from later in the year.

                          • yeah, im gonna spring for the dynalook with the xenon / H7 combo.
genuine Hella Xenon for the low beam, and H7 for the high beam.

i was thinking about buying the Dyanbeams, then convrting them to Bi-Xenon, but that's almost as expensive as getting the genuine xenon versions.
it's just that the dynalook's dont swivel into turns.
i have lived without swiveling headlights for 37 years now, don't feel like ill miss them....

                            now just gotta keep saving.....

                            • APR Urethane engine mount

Had the APR dog mount fitted today. Could feel the difference straight away, less slop/slack of the engine when down shifting at high rpm and reduced axle tramp. Love the increased connection and response it delivers.
                              Well worth $99.00
