All I needed were spark plugs...
but got spark plugs, throttle body breather pipe, pins for engine cover, spare wheel bolt, new stretch bolts for sub frame.

Can anyone recommend a power steering fluid for the 1.8t just checked mine really low

I'd only use genuine. It's not expensive, how do know its low? Is it whining? The dipstick in the resoviour isn't like an oil dip-stick. As long as at least the tip is wet, should be fine. Just don't over-fill it. It will leak out when the pressure rises and make a nice little mess
If you were in Sydney, I'd give you the bottle I bought to top mine up, but never needed to use it! Bought it from HSY, maybe like about $17 off the top of my head. Genuine would only be a couple of dollars more at the most, easy enough to just get it from them like Lito said..
Dark Grey Mk4 Golf, 1.8T GTI conversion, APR stage 1, stock air intake, FMIC, 3" to 2.5" Exhaust, FK AK Street Coils, Black 18" (Avant Garde M310's ?), tinted tails, ...

Yeah I bit of a whine at full lock in reverse. The tip is wet but well below the min mark. How much driving can it do like this

Havent checked my levels but my wheel is fairly hard to turn at low-speeds. I know it's awd so the steering will be a bit more heavier but I'd usually associate heavy steering with low power steering fluid.
Might have to borrow that bottle soon mate!
Maybe it can be the VW Vic division community fluid.
