Got a CDA from SLAJ yesterday, good to meet ya dude. Heres a quick pic of the ICM with custom PC CPU heat sink so it doesnt over heat, I used CPU cooling paste between the module and heat sink too.
Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk
I seriously thought about doing this with the heat sink, but I just sold the CDA instead (to Slaj). Just make sure those fins are above the ICM so the heat can rise away.
Enjoy the sound it makes !!
MK4 GTI - Sold
MK5 Jetta Turbo - Sold
MK5 Jetta 2.Slow - Until it dies.
Just replaced the expansion tank thought it was leaking but it turned out to be the hose instead. Replaced that too.
Also, went over 200 000k's yesterday.
Cleaned it, took the son in it for the first time! i would be installing a r32 steering wheel which i paid for two weeks ago but due to stalling and waiting was dropped off at depot 23rd and i wont see it until the new year :/
Today I cleaned my throttle body and MAF, also put new spark plugs in too. The old ones were for starters the wrong spark plugs, and burnt out and disgusting. After taking her for a test drive its like owning a new car again, she pulls a lot harder and idles much smoother too, I'm super happy

I didn't realise that reservoir is mustard/brown due to the coolant! So clean and pretty in white!
Where did you get it from and how much was it?
With 200,000kms on the clock, it's only a matter of time before more parts of the cooling system go kaput so might as well replace it all at once.
So far I've only found cooling parts on ecstuning.com - anywhere else I can get them from online/IRL other than VW or local auto stores?

Bought the tank off traedayz forum member. You can buy them off ecs or eBay might have them.
It's worth getting a price from the dealers as the replacement hose I bought was about $20 cheaper than ecs.
Successful day on the Bora but I really hate volkswagen right now.
Who in their right mind thought using plastic to run water from the washer reservoir to the jets was a good idea?
I found out why my washer jets never sprayed out any water - the entire line was incredibly brittle and cracked in a million places.
It's now been replaced with rubber hosing that i've cut my arms up trying to reroute under the guard into the bonnet.
That being said it works a charm. Nice to be able to clean my windscreen again.
Also had to fork out a nice $220 for a 50cm plastic PCV hose. What a rip! Would've cost the same from ECS when you consider delivery. Necessary evil and at least my interior won't smell like an old used jerry can.

In more positive news - lovely weather in Melb today! Looks like I got my first summer sun burn!

I found out about the plastic hose a few weeks ago.
I bought a MK4 golf that had a little hit in the front and needed a bonnet straight away.
So I get to work and order one first thing in the morning so I will get it that afternoon.
Bonnet showed up, I go to remove the dented one at work before driving it home and
first thing I do is remove the squirters and bang, the pipes just snapped.
Just made some out of rubber tube off another car.
Piss poor setup.

Pics of rear bar! Yeah I just missed out on a delivery due to Christmas closure and late processing as well (not car parts though something else)
$299USD for the clutch from ECS plus approx $150USD for postage.
$735 for labour including replacement gearbox seals and lh cv boot (which they gave me free labour for those two)
Total about $1200ish
Yep...love it! So light. Yeah got the stage 1 14lb clutch kit with lightweight flywheel. Havent noticed any chattering yet.....
I got that same 14lb kit off ECS last year. Funnily enough though I didn't notice the clutch pedal being much lighter. Although the engine revs up faster due to lightweight flywheel. I do notice some chatter in neutral eg in the garage etc but you'd be unlikely to hear it with any music on
Blew one of the brake booster hoses a couple of weeks ago - sounded like a tractor and lost all pressure in the brake pedal while driving along! Lucky I wasn't in traffic! Turns out the hose must have been cracked for a while I reckon, and then it came off the 90deg joiner completely in the heat that day after I'd been parked in the sun for a few hours. Got it taped it up to get home then had a new one fitted during the week. Seems the hose on the other side of the joiner is a bit cracked as well but that's taped up now so should be all good

You sure are game. Brakes are rarely something I muck around with. I always go with leaks = tow truck.
Looking at my car's engine bay I can see that the brake booster hose has once busted on mine too. It was replaced with a simple rubber fuel hose. I hope it doesn't fail Lol.
