  • Got it at the very end of 2006 (29th or 30th of December I think), so its another year under the belt in a week or so.

Yet to pickup the car but have been told/sent a pick of one of my IDF control arms, and it has a nice bend
Bit freaky considering the plate is about 4 times the thickness of the OEM pressed arms
Think it happened friday night, but not sure what caused it as I was driving on decent roads and didnt go anywhere near a curb etc

        • Yesterday was a busy one
New plugs in - Thanks Gavin
Replaced broken breather pipe at back of throttle body and fixed cracked brake booster vac line.
WOW it is on the power today. Not sure if it was the plugs or vac lines, but it is pulling so strong. I got a fright leaving a roundabout this morning
          MK4 GTI - Sold
          MK5 Jetta Turbo - Sold
          MK5 Jetta 2.Slow - Until it dies.

Haha I had the same experience last week when I fixed boost leaks.

            • Laura hasn't had much actual work done to her recently but I've just been buying some Xmas presents in the form of parts for her instead.

Picked off a mirror switch & handle from a Audi a4 1.8T of the same era. Handle & switch fits in the door trim and the a4 & bora both have the same number of wires on the drivers side mirror switch harness. Now to work out how to wire it in. Can't seem to find any wiring diagrams for either cars so going to have to work out the wiring config using a millimeter and some trail&error.

Also found a tan interior bora at my local wreckers in much nick than mine so going to flog some bits and pieces.

Unfortunately the drivers side leather is cracked so can't replace my torn drivers seat

Same wreckers have a mk4 gti and a non leather bora both with almost perfect seats and interior plastics. Shame my interior is tan and the cloth don't have seat warmers.

Loving the new pedal feel? I stalled mine like 3 times when I first got it done! Did you get a light weight fly wheel too? If so does it chatter much?
