Made some frustrating discoveries on the Bora today. >.<
Turns out that the hose from the throttle body to the heater core hose is the main culprit for my recent coolant spit out. In the process of removing that hose, I managed to very easily snap anouther small t-piece. I inspected the surround hoses and they are looking real worse for wear so they'll have to be replaced as well. 6 hoses & 3 fittings. I'm considering
Some plastic breather hose was also previous cracked and taped up. It connects from the left side of the engine to a sensor/valve on the back side of the intake pipe. Any ideas on what it is?
Also discovered a rather large alarm hose and power supply. The horn was just dangling by the pipes with the capacitor (?) just shoved in next to the headlight. Not happy with that. Turns out someone installed that horn as an extra horn to the aftermarket alarm system.
Traced the wiring back to inside the cabin where I finally discovered the ****ty "Spy" alarm system that was installed into the car. As expected; there wiring everywhere but tat least they've used electric cables and joiners professional's use for house wiring. Bit of research yields that the "Spy" branded car alarms basically came with a list of what wire is meant to connect where as a form of a wiring diagram. Little scared to rip out the system.
Also attempted to remove the outdated Sony headunit from the car and it seems the installer has bent the edges of the cage that holds the radio in and is now making it very difficult to remove. I'm currently having to dismantle half the interior to remove the entire central unit in hope to loosen it from the side.

Bugger me I write some essays.
Maybe I need a blog tucked away in the dark corners of the internet so no one can read the thesis' I write on my car.
Does this forum have a member ride/build thread section? Can't seem to find one >.<
I could at least contain my rants to that page instead of clouding this threadOriginally posted by MightyCarModsI'd rather lose by a mile because I built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me. Your car is your story, so don't let someone else write the book.

Maybe I'll start up a thread in the mk4 section. That way people can better ignore my essays.Originally posted by MightyCarModsI'd rather lose by a mile because I built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.
