Trying to figure out what's loose and vibrating under my car when I go around corners ATM, and also had the speedo stop working today and the fuel gauge doesn't know what's going on
spent the weekend neatening up my trims. they were pealing so badly it was disgusting. gave the bottom ones a sand and coat of paint (not a fantastic job as im in the market for a new one) and had some spare carbon wrap which i used for the stereo and air-con panel.
The crack in the shifter surround irritates me cant find one for sale anywhere.
also got around to getting all my golf, generation and 2.0 badges off and blacking out the VW ones. such a small change but makes a huge difference. i love it.
anyway im new to the whole euro scene. the poor little golf looks so out of place in my garage. i absolutely love it though. waiting for my coils to come then i will probably be getting some XXR's off Next Level motoring. i see a lot of people going for such big sizes like 17's and 18's, i find myself looking in the 15x9 range. Is this just the previous years of being in the japanese scene trying to come out in me, or do other people agree that they look so much better on smaller wheels.
17s minimum on a mk4, unless you want it stock.
And xxr don't belong on Euro cars

I hope it is not gearbox related. When my crown wheel let go it chewed the speedo drive gear (plastic) and it went nuts.
MK4 GTI - Sold
MK5 Jetta Turbo - Sold
MK5 Jetta 2.Slow - Until it dies.
they definitely do for the price Dylan. At the end of the day this car was bought as a daily and even though i will be modifying it a bit to make it neat, there isn't a chance in hell I'm spending more than 800 bucks on a set of wheels for it.
XXR's are a nice looking wheel, if it upsets the diehard VW enthusiasts then so be it. i wont be arguing the point with them, everyone has their own style and taste. Im having a hard time finding 5x100's that arn't over used to death.
XXR's come in 5x100 so if the shoe fits... im gonna wear it !!

Are your reverse lights working? Once I had my reverse wire short out and a heap of things stopped working due to blown fuse.
I think XXR 527 look amazing on low Mk4's, u mad Dyl?
Something sounded like it snapped under the car while I was turning around a roundabout a few days ago and I get vibration when turning now (driveshaft maybe?). speedo stopped working yesterday so I'm not sure if they're connected.
Speedo is sitting at 0 and fuel gauge needle keeps going up and back down to empty. I thought it might be a fuse but they're all ok. Did some reading and apparently it can have something to do with the wires under the battery tray

There are much cooler, higher-quality wheels to be found for less than a set of new XXRs would cost. It's not a matter of offending die hard enthusiasts or people being haters. You can do better if you look around - the hunt for cool wheels if part of the fun.

800 is far too much for something of that quality.
take it from someone who knows.
