What have you done to your mk4 (golf/bora) today?

    Can anyone with an early 24v confirm how many o2 sensors there are? If only 2, what the extra hole(s) are for? (Can't find anything in Etka.)
    I've spotted 2 holes in the downpipes, and 2 holes after cat - I know that the after cat holes are definitely o2 sensors.

      No clunking under that scenario, but if I drive diagonally into my driveway over the 45 degree gutter, it does clunk, and the whole car sounds like a creaking tall ship sailing the seven seas.

        Drove my bora for the first time in almost three weeks (hadn't driven at all until this morning in that long in fact) man I missed it.

        Also checked the forum for the first time in about the same period... 20 pages of unread threads :S

                    Haha well it made my bus trip home from work a bit more bearable. On more vw related news, my passenger inner cv decided to self destruct, car is on stands until new axle comes. Note to self, no more hard launches around corners

                      Yep, solder technique worked for me 3 doors out of 3. Been quite a few months since the last one was done, all working perfectly! Door lock light flashes perfectly every time (meaning deadlock confirmation).

                      • Replaced my strut top mounts about 3 weeks ago, left side is already popping out heaps compared to the right - may need to invest into some polyurethane tops.

                        On a side note, anyone or Simon know what size bolts (3) the 24v engine mount/bracket uses?

                                Yep, beat me to it MCiN7,

                                That first link is the one!
                                Print it out and pull the corresponding door apart and go for it!! Even if it DOESN'T look like your solder joints are as cracked as the ones in the pictures from the thread, just re-solder them all anyway! 2 out of 3 of my doors' solder joints didn't look bad, yet just re-soldering them all anyway completely worked!!

                                There are also corresponding guides on vortex of getting out each door lock, (front or rear doors). Sorry I can't give you the link straight away, I've just formatted my mac and have lost all of my good internet bookmarks, sorry!. Good Luck!
