Hectic amounts of gasket maker and the manifolds are on, new oil cooler gaskets and crank angle sensor in. Ran into an issue with the fuel rail not fitting the Intake manifold though. Will get creative and hopefully come out on top.
Most of the bits done. Just need to hook up coolant hoses, radiator, downpipes to exhaust, intake pipe and a battery tie down of some sort.
Flywheel, clutch and Pressure plate on painlessly.
Followed by the gearbox.
Quick bit of wriggling around the motor was planted in place.
Spun it over by hand to check nothing hit, like every other time I've changed clutches and that the chain tensioner hasn't bled off. Everything was A Ok at this point so off for Lunch.
Almost there. Massive run around with getting a fuel rail to suit the SRI.
Trying hardest to avoid putting the Schrick intake manifold back on.
Cut out the back of the oem radiator shroud and fitted some slim line fans.
SRI fits with the stock fans, but i wanted less clutter in the bay. Funnily enough there is stuff all weight difference between the two.
ZIP TIE LIFE as Roadkill would say!
Fitted.
Rear shot.
Bent a piece of flat bar i found on the ground as a lower support for the radiator 'frame' as I am not using a reo.
This also helped with some monster gap i had between hoodand headlights
Will the plastic zip ties be happy inside the rad or do you plan to switch them out for metal ones? I have no idea how hot it gets inside those fins but would hate for a failure there.
Side question.... am I reading that temptation-to-install correctly... i.e. you have a schrick intake that suits an R32?

Will find out. It shouldn't be all that hot, sub 90c in theory. What car runs at + wind chill factor. I dare say they won't last long. But will keep an eye on them.
Yeah sorry. Misinformation.
Putting a 12v in it while the loom for 24v swap is being made.
Been going around in circles with electrical problems.
No fuel pump, dodgy tps etc.
Stem of all the problems ended up being that the megasquirt had 'lost' the firmware from sitting for so long with a dead battery in the old vr.
Reinstalled firmware, loaded tune on and presto. Fuel pump primes as should.
Fuel rail still needs to be delivered then it's a matter of fuel, bleed the brakes and a re tune to suit the bigger cams/intake manifold.
(Fingers crossed) That is all that is required.
Got it today and it's the wrong size. So now i have about 1300 fittings to make it work. Hopefully turn key by end of the month (when adapter fittings arrive)
