    Thanks for the support.

Well all my friends and family keep telling me why im bothering, and its only 2 doors (what about practicality) and that why dont i keep my 5 door, and they are probably right.

But i just want to try something different.

We know its much more than just 2 doors difference though eh!!

Its great to read that things seem to be working out for you, you had a quick sale on your 5 dr too!

Have you spoken with Steve White from Cargo Online yet? He drove me from Manly out to god knows where south of the city - just so i could see my Corrado when it arrived from the UK and be there when it went on the back of a truck to get compliance etc!! That was back in '05, such a helpful bloke, i'm sure you'll have no dramas with them, if you're using them?

I will most likely be going with Mr. White via RORO and have already received a surplus of information and detail. He seems to me like a top bloke and has been willing to answer all my dumb questions.

I've also just sent off my VIA about an hour ago, so hope goes well. Hopefully they notify me if it doesn't.

Mate, this is brilliant stuff. If I can't find a suitable Mk1 GTI in Aus then I think ill be importing too.. but from NZ most likely..

Will keep watching with interest as I am sure most people are

well since i will be going from a 2L 8v to the g60 8v, i was wondering what difference would i expect to have, anyone drive or have a review of the g60.

Also is it an issue that it still has the 16v gearbox?

Its probably great that it still has the 16v Gearbox as it will scream through the gears and go faster.
The only one that would be better IMO is a TDI Box.

                  Your driveway sucks

I noticed you took the dead things decal off the window.

Anyway, all good. Hope you enjoy your 3 door when it arrives.

                    • How are things progressing?

Just been lurking in the classifieds of Ed 38 and the ad has been bumped by some shark trying for the interior. Didn't notice how sweet the interior is either. Recaro's, nice!!

Just wondering whether the parts mentioned in the ad, gearbox, coilovers & poly bushes are included and whether this affects the import process. Will you be taxed on their worth?

                      • as far as im aware, i will be sending the payment this week, he has already notified the dvla and has also given me the receipt for purchase to try for the VIA which is what im waiting on/

I emailed to find out how the process was proceeding, and another person replied saying it was going good, and will notify me of any problems.

Just been trying to sort out details at the bank as they need all these details that ive been chasing.

is an IBAN code the same as a SWIFT, that what i got to sort out.

but as far as im aware the car is mine, he just hasn't pulled the ad.

Iban is the International Bank Account Number.

Similar to swift, but swift is the local version I think.

Is it the UK bank or Aus bank that needs the swift?
