Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Can you put parts in the cabin, prior to shipping?
Like 2 complete spare doors and any 3door specific parts.
I finally tracked 1 down after about 2 years of searching US and UK sites. I was going to fit an internal brake light fitted to the mk3's if I couldn't find the hella unit but thankfully didn't arrive to that.
If you do want a unit I can give you part numbers but your best bet is to look on vw votex and sites such as edition 38 plus ebay usa and uk. They do come up but not very oftenDon't know where I'm going but I do know where I've been

So im pretty much sorted. Shipping should commence on the 12/03/2010
I've also asked about pick-up and steve has stated:
When the car is cleared through Customs we can move it from the wharf or you can go and collect it with a car trailer. It is not legal to drive it until after it has a Blue Slip. That is when you drive it to the weighbridge and then to the RTA.
So am i going to need to get it onto a trailer?

Also, if anyone is looking to do the same thing, dont hesitate to ask me about it. Im pretty much now know all the details and have emails to the shipping company and DOTARS that are a few dozen in replies.
Hope the shipping doesn't take to long

Get someone to punch the middle of the valve down (It's like an inner tube valve -Schrader I think) then it's de gassed.
I hired a trailer to collect mine. Active Hire. $100 for a Friday noon pickup to Mon AM drop off. Can't go wrong! Just make sure that the winch strap isn't frayed to buggery already!!!
