Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

      • Saw the car today, man does it look cool in the flesh, thanks for holding it matt. Had a quick drive, like matt said the clutch is slipping and the power steering is a bit noisy but i expected all these. after driving a 95 auto commondoor it was alot better. On all accounts there is no rust, just on the battery support and a few spots of surface in and around the engine bay, nothing major.

The latch on the rear window has been changed but should be sorted, side indicators needed, and the speedo doesn't work. ill have a go at the linkages got reverse a few times. All will be fixed for rego though, thanks matt. Hard to describe how driving a unique car other then its awesome.

Touch wood the compliance goes ok, and can rego it in time for Nats.

By the way, anyone got some g60 badges, you can have the 16v ones if you want loon.

also the sun roof is stuck a bit

hey Dan, don't worry, spent most of my years spurging $$$$$ on cars, wine and women....and not one regret...just make sure you fit some property in there somewhere.

                              Cheers
