Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

ok, how achievable is it for me to fix these scratches and bumps, ive had a look and been talking to people and seems a little worse then i thought. I was thinking of trying what evorobin and dubsteve stated and giving it a go, but the scratch on the sun roof seems a little deep. Also is the bump repairable without respraying the whole bonnet or will i need to go to a panel shop where they'll likely stuff it. Why are there so few good ones.
Man this is frustrating.

Probably best to take it to a panel shop and get it done at the same time if this is the case, it shouldn't cost to much. That second pic looking like the sun roof will need to be cut back thats for sure.I'm soo euro even my missus is shaved...

Have you tried any dent doctors around your area?
Last week i took my wrx to a friend that does paint-less dent removal and i was shocked at the result.
Couldn't even tell there was a dent to begin with and the one in my front arch was much worse than your dent.
If it is do-able it would be much less than a panel shop.
