I have had a chat to the lad at weber. He doesnt seem to have much experience with e85. My google searches only seem to take me to theads of whether its possible or not, but no details as to how. Many drag carbs run methanol which is much harsher that e85 but again, not many details on the topic. I have an e85 bowser just down the road from home, so it is more than accessable. Im really keen if anyone here played around with it, given 80% of jap cars run e85, why cant we

Give it a bash mate. Use that wideband to dial in the jet size and bob's your uncle. Or just run an auxiliary methanol injection for them old school feels77 Mk1 GLS 2 door - That sinking feeling

Yeah, thats what i was planning on doing. My concerns are, from what i understand, e85 corrodes aluminium. How do the carb seals cope with the e85? Honestly just going to get a set of jet drills and a gauge. Cheaper than trial and error with heaps of jets. Wideband will make tuning a breeze, so no worries thereOriginally posted by Browneye View PostGive it a bash mate. Use that wideband to dial in the jet size and bob's your uncle. Well after a long person conflict of:
Switching to 15x7 wheels so i can actually have a decent range of performance tyres, or
Trying to find a decent set for the 14x6 bottle caps,
I have decided...
Just bought a set of federal 595's in 185/55/14 and gonna run some mad spacers so it actually looks decent
My other option (prefered option, but not quite worth it), i had found a discontinued set of Toyo proxes T1-R's in 195/45/14 (maaaad size
) but unfortunately they are hard and expensive to find/import

Well guys, i managed to get my car to its first motorsport event.. Heathcote Dragway!!!
The car went incredibly well and reliable. It held up with the 200km drive there, a total of an odd 20 runs, AND the 200km drive home... all on half a tank
Managed to squeeze out a 15.7 at 96mph down the 1/4mile.
Here are some photos and video links for all you lads [emoji14]
