    • Those burns on me would have left me with a smashed up and torched car.

Cool to see it didn't kill your determination!

Thanks Al, I need to still come over and get these next few things sorted out but my leave passes have dried up a bit of late. Once I get the ATS ready, I will have no choice as they won't fit on without the guards being further attended to. And I really want that front bar fitted up, but still have not sourced the hardware.

        • Sorry to hear about your arm...
Had a few similar lapses in concentration, just sheer luck that they turned out to be near misses

Good news on the tune though!
          At least it wasn't fruitless

Could have been heaps worse mate.

I forgot to post this up a while ago - you might have been at Papaya - but I have no idea who I am looking for!

Not mine but I have parked in the same spot a few times...
                I'm 3dr with silver rims
I also have a black VWG sticker on the back window, but it's a bit too subtle.

                • Glad to hear she's all sorted, Mike.

Have you fitted the new plugs yet?

Those plugs make all the difference, even if it is a placebo!

                    • Hope your mum doesn't read this forum or you're going to get even more grief. Yes, dumb thing to do. Yes, other people have done the same thing (luckily I was wearing a jumper but it still hurt like hell for a week). Yes, my wife gave me heaps for being so dumb.

I can't believe how much trouble your car is to get running right. Surely there must be someone who can give the car a good checkout and get all the settings right or are you determined to do it yourself?

I doubt it was a placebo.. They should've made a hell of a difference considering the state of the ones that were in it!

                          • Well they were better than the CJ8's out of the victa I was using so yes.

Just got the ATS back from straightening at Neales wheels - now I am just needing to polish them, re black the centres and wait for my next spare $ for the Federal 595 SRS and I'll be giggling like a school girl.

I think half the fun in playing with cars is doing it yourself. It always ends up being a love/hate relationship but at the end of the day its nice when you can sit back and say "I did that"
I think I get just as much of a kick out of tinkering as I do driving.
