DNS series head unit (new generation dual core RNS-510 alternative)
Hi all. I wrote before about I have bricked my DNS830 for Skoda Superb by updating wrong version of software. It was very hard to find Fiona from Audiosources but I did it! She said that I must replace MCU chip. She sold it for 5$ + 15$ for delivery. I gave the motherboard to a repair shop and the master soldered new chip for 6$.
Now it works again! Now it has new version of MCU chip (DNS850.A.1106). Now I can switch on the SD card or usb device without rebooting
Photo of moterboard from Fiona but I have another version. MCU chip is same and at same place
is there any new versions of software? ))) and can i update by this? what is the version of mcu there? will it work on my mcu? i want to reset all settings and to get clear system

Mate, please don't PM me asking to answer your question, bit rude if we're honest.
Anyways, if I were you, I wouldn't touch ANY firmware upgrades except those that you get directly from Audiosources. That way you will have the right firmware and you won't risk bricking your unit again.
There are new a few different hardware iterations, it's pretty easy for someone who doesn't know what they're doing or who is unfamiliar with the history of the units to break their units now.
Either way, your unit appears to be the new hardware and new canbus (but is a DNS850). The firmware you have linked is the same that you have installed (but for the DNS810). There are a few newer ones, but not much has really changed since then. I'm not going to upload it for you, sorry.

Audiosources says me it is newest software, but it is not! I want to have newest software and i vary want to do full reset. Now climatronic is not show on my DNS, only then i click OFF. And some another bugs
Quick question...
Does anybody know where on the board is the ram located?
Im thinking of upgrading to 1Gb ram which i believe will solve many problems.
My main problem is while playing mp3 from usb and navigation running(Igo primo) when i change track it just freezes and if i press the navi button and navigation minimizes the track then changes.
I believe this unit DNS610 has difficulty multitasking do to small Ram.

I'll have a look at your versions again tomorrow and see what you can and can't flash.

First of all, no. Lol no. Embedded Electronics don't work like that. You can't just solder some ram chips on and think it'll work, lol. Also, we've already well established that Primo doesn't work with the DNS. It's because of the country's, not ram.
Use Sygic.

Just to re-iterate, since I posted my last reply on my phone. You cannot do this. It will not work.
The problem you have is because, as discussed many, many times before, iGo Primo is NOT compatible with these units. The root cause is that there is a bug with the CPU, because it is running WinCE6.0, which does not support multi-core CPUs fully. The ONLY way this bug will get fixed is by using a different OS (ie Android), which WILL NOT HAPPEN with the DNS series of headunits.
The ONLY solution for us is to use Sygic Drive, which works flawlessly, and frankly, is a better navigation software than iGo anyways. The only reason iGo is more popular is because it is more mod friendly, much easier to find, and much easier to get free updated maps for.
You absolutely CANNOT just try to solder on some more ram chips. You would probably destroy the unit in the process (since ramchips are precision BGA soldered on), and embedded electronics doesn't work like that anyways, even if you could solder on new/bigger chips, chances are it wouldn't be able to read the extra ram anyways. Not to mention the fact that WinCE only supports limited amounts of ram anyways. So yea, bad idea, don't bother, it won't fix anything, waste of time and money.

Thanks for the helpful info!
I have tried various navigation software bu t they all have the same outcome...
I have searched all over the web to find Sygic Drive but without any success!
Is there any possibility i can find a working version of Sygic from here?I am only interested in the Greek map!
I already spoke with Lisa from Audiosources and she told me that they dont have Sygic and that iGO works fine.
Thanks again!
Any help would be appreciated!

Igo probably does work fine when they are running a simulated route while bench testing!
In the real world when you use it in a car navigating it is no good.
It's got me @#$%@# why they keep saying Igo works fine.
Quick update.
Been running Sygic for some time now with very little issue - that being the zoom function
Have noticed that at night the unit as 3 setting for brightness - bright, bright and screen off... Is there a setting hidden somewhere to adjust that?
Has anyone else had any battery drain issues? Since installing the new can chip I get a flat battery at least every other day. If not I have to start the car twice for the unit to power on. I think the silent boot feature is borked and not shutting off/booting up when it should. Its at the point now where I carry a battery pack around with me just in case.

Yeah. I reckon I'm having a battery drain issue. If I don't use my car for 3 or 4 days it drains the battery and I need to jump start. I've installed a new battery to help but I'm sure the unit is affecting it. Sometimes unit doesn't load past logo screen since last firmware and I soft boot it to get it going. Think we need new firmware.
I had the same problem with boot logo freezing with can VW_V02.33.
I installed the older version VW_V02.27 and the problem was solved.
Can i ask where did you people get Sygic from?I have searched the web and have found nothing to be working.
