Thanks but got access to control panel and fixed it - pointed nav path at a copy of total commander, ran explorer.exe from /Windows folder and got into control panelOriginally posted by matiasg85 View PostNo, it won't work, i will try to make a video showing you how to do it with the faulty garmin nav. It's pretty easy.
It's all chinese symbols but i recognised appropriate options and set it to GMT with DST, time and date now syncs correctly
Thanks for the tip!

Downloaded a package called 'Vista unlock 800x480' which is mentioned on gpsunderground as a customizer/launcher for chinese GPS unitsOriginally posted by Fdandy View PostHow did you get total commander loaded?

Unzipped it onto Nav SD, then pointed GPS path at the .exe file in programs\Total commander (not sure what else this Vista unlock 800x480 does but it includes total commander)

No, i haven't had time, and i don't think i will try it. I was speaking to an AS representative, and they told me they are still working on the firmware for the DNS610, i might wait for theirs. I will post it here once i have it.Originally posted by asa572 View Postdid you end up trying the update??
I have done it 3 times now with the same result each time.

Did you use the new procedure??Originally posted by Fdandy View PostOk, on the latest firmware. Nav seems a little less responsive and sd playing still slow however I havnt had any monsun errors. Think the last safe firmware was better IMO.

Mine is noticeably better. Nav is ALOT faster to load and to go through the menu. And the SD loads in a few seconds Compared to 10-15 previously.

I've had the same experience however I still can't run the 2 together with out the unit locking up and crashing after a short while. Not a monsun error. Just freezes and needs a reboot.Originally posted by polski_ogurek View PostDid you use the new procedure??

Have not had that, honestly from what I can tell seems stable and to have cleared up some issues, especially the speed. Only tried the SD +nav a few times and I can't remember having any issues.Originally posted by Goobz View PostI've had the same experience however I still can't run the 2 together with out the unit locking up and crashing after a short while. Only issue I have is my Bluetooth not working 100% but that seems to be my unit, tried with 3 different phones and does the same thing, drops connection, like there is a faulty connection, or something has come loose.

Ok, found some new issues:
Button input (steering wheel controls/unit knobs, ie volume) became slow (~15s to respond) with FM in background and Nav running. Tried it again half an hour later and worked better, though, so it was pretty random.
Enabling RDS and TA caused the unit to completely lock up, become unresponsive and wouldn't shut off. Required a fuse pull to reset.
Fun. I imagine both are still caused by the CPU issue.MY10 Golf Mk6 103TDI DSG Candy White | Revo Stage 1 ECU Tune | 18" Talladegas | GTI Front/Rear/Exhaust | R LED Taillights | GTI Steering Wheel | VW Discover Media | Focal IFVW Front Speakers | Mk7 Climatronic Panel |
