Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Anyone who did the intercooler swap: do u remember what the part number was for the stock cooler you removed? Also did your hoses have connectors to be cut or did it come with garden hose clamps?
Part number for my stock intercooler: 1k0145803BM

Just thought I would post up a few things even though I am doing the swap on a jetta:
My intercooler is 1k0145803BM. It's dimensions are 31 mm x 418 x 647 mm. I'm surprised it's this big as the S3 intercooler I have is 37 mm x 416 mm x 646 mm.
1k0145803bp - s3 intercooler has 32 bars of fins vs 30 in the stock intercooler. The fins on the s3 intercooler are also smaller so there are more of them that way as well.
S3 intercooler has the yellow covers attached in pic.
Finally I encountered garden hose clips (not sure what the right term is) so didn't have to cut my hoses to fit them onto the new intercooler. All of this should apply to a golf.

Hi guys,
I'm currently investigating some mods towards my golf 118 tsi with a tune and exhaust being my first options. Since reading throughout this thread I've chosen to go with the stage 1 apr tune, but I was curious as I am betting this has been asked before are there any aftermarket exhausts that anyone is aware of, and sorry for bringing this question up again. On that note this is the only one I have found but other then that I'm guessing that I'll need get a custom exhaust?

Thanks again.

The Beetle uses a new Twin Charger engine designated CTHD (similar to Polo GTI) I believe main differences is forged pistons and new ECU. This ECU has new encryption that needs more work for tuners to apply their tunes meaning ECU need to be opened and worked on.
"Before a bluefin can be used on this model, the ECU must be "bluefin enabled"
The vehicle's ECU will need to be removed, opened, reprogrammed and refitted, which will then allow us to communicate with the vehicle through its onboard diagnostic port. This process is done with specialist equipment at one of the Superchips dealers listed, from whom you buy the bluefin at the same time.
The process is not detectable diagnostically by the servicing dealer".
Just to note, the Beetle we have is based on the Jetta and not the golf so expect some physical differencesTig 162 R-Line; Audi TT

Finally got my car remapped. Stage 1. To those who have done it on their golfs, did you notice higher oil temperatures when cruising at highway speed limits?
Before, I used to see 92 deg C for oil temperatures when cruising around 95 kph. Now for the same speed it steadies at about 94 deg C. Seems logical to me but would like to hear what you observed with yours.

Never noticed, never been a problem
If you push really hard you can get it to 109

I came across one from milltek in the UK but it's for a scirocco 1.4tsi hence my model specific question.
