What did I do to my Octavia today?

Gave it to my wife. She wanted the car with the proper boot to carry baby paraphernalia. Fair enough. I lasted 2 weeks in the Golf.

Now I have an R36. In blue. Just like the Octy. We can no longer go in the 'blue car' or the 'silver car'.

First world problem.

Swapped out the interiot lights for LEDs from LedPerf.co.uk though i'm left with extra globes as the RS doesn't have footwell lights and i have extra ceiling festoon lights. I might retrofit footwell lights though this seems quite a chore and probably not worth the effort as the LEDs are quite bright already.

I have full interor light kit (including footwell) and have the footwell kit from boldsport as well. I'll fit it while i'm on the xmas holidays (forced shutdown at work). I also bought number plate light, reverse lights, and LED blinkers (proper globes with leds that are positioned to give light in all directions like a normal globe, so visible from all angles.) Also go LEDs to go in the parker lights in the xenons, to match the xenon colour. Only non-led light I have left is front blinkers in xenons. I'll make sure they are the same as rears, then order those also.

You'll need a VCDS cable to code footwell lights.

Fuel consumption has gone back down (Talladegas + R32 brakes) from 7.xL/100km to 6.1-6.3L/100km with just the wheel change! Heres hoping ECS two-piece rotors will make it even better!




Had a 20W LED light "bar" lying around, was supposed to be a reverse light for the trailer but it didn't fit, so decided to put it on my spare 40mm HR towbar tongue. Works a treat!

+1 and also was it just a wheel change but same tyres?

I'm finding my fuel economy has gone up with my new shoes and tyres but I think that might be a function of the rolling resistance of the Goodyears not being as good as the conti's.

Cheers and yeah I'm pretty happy with them and how they came up. Could have gone for a slightly more aggressive offset on the rears but never mind.

It looks great. Exactly the same as my last Octavia (minus the rims of course). I told the missus the second a rim gets rash, I'm buying the vmrs. She has had a few people say it would look awesome with black rims.... She is starting to agree..... Wear them down!

I'm not actually sure, will have to weigh them. The rotors alone are +4-5kg each corner though!
