Ha ha. It's OK, it's prob a few pages back.

    Black mirror caps
    Sill guards
    Rs pedal covers
    Door bin
    Seat handle inserts
    Front and rear mudflaps

Edit: yes the wife is very understanding. Since it's a long term car, I figure it's better to do everything I want straight up. It is her car, she doesn't care what I do to it though as long as I'm happy. I'm the fussy one with cars. She just wants room and power (compared to the jazz this feels like a supercar)

Has anyone considered removing the resonator on their mk3 VRS TSI? One guy did it on Briskoda, he mentioned it made the car sounded similar to GTI Mk7, deep tone with burble. Saved him 12kg in weight as well.

I had a look underneath the car, the resonator seems to be quite large. Maybe this is why the car's exhaust is so quiet?

I'm tempted but prefer to hear the result first (in video or in person) .

Don't you wanna be the guinea pig? I'm considering a downpipe soon and if its not freeing up some sound i may go this extra route.

Edit: Got a link to the thread?

I like the guinea pig idea . How much should I expect to pay for this simple mod nowadays? I did the same for my first car about 10 years ago, cost about 90 bucks or so, still the same?

Now just need to find local exhaust shop that's open on the weekend .

I was expecting pics and possibly a video but no luck. Would a downpipe remove this section or is it after it?

Downpipe with cat then suitcase resonator just under the rear seats then under the axle & the mufflers

If you do the DP then that will get rid of 1 or two 900cell catcons and you'll replace them with a single 200 cell unit which may (or not) make it a bit growly but i really doubt it.

Who's doing DPs for the 162tsi?

I know Milltek do one specifically for the RS. But I'm looking at Mk7 GTI options, specifically CTS. Have been told its a straight fit.

I'm assuming a tune is needed after the DP replacement?

Yep, or you can fit a spacer

                    • Ledperf order arrived. Slowly all the bits are trickling in for the new car.

What's the quality of the leds? Look okay?

                        • Umm. Yeah? Look like leds ha ha. Haven't had a close look yet. The trim removal tools seem solid for ~$14 (€9)

I'm not sure why you'd bother with a DP if you aren't doing a tune.

If you want performance then Tune is the #1 bang-for-buck way to get it.

If you want an exhaust note then you are better off playing with muffler/resonators.

                            NB:
You won't necessarily get a CEL if you fit a DP.
                            A stage 1 tune won't stop a CEL.
A stage 2 tune will stop a CEL appearing on the dashboard but it only inhibits the dash light coming on for that error & you'll still log codes.

Who says I'm not getting the tune and the whole shebang?
