If I was in Sydney, I would go with the Rob Brad suggested for tinting. His name pops up everywhere. A bit like Rob Tait here.

Always had a feeling the dealer prove would be more expensive. Especially since the way they were aggressively pushing it - after the sale was agreed

I got my RS wagon done with Opticoat (including glass and wheels), tint (Carbon XP) all round and Opticoat interior protection for about $1100. From memory the tint was about $330 of that.2007 Golf 2.0 TDI Comfortline DSG/ESP

You are just paying for convenience with a dealer, better to find a tinter you are happy with and go direct.
I've used Sungard in Penrith on 5 cars. Great job every time. Last 2 times were darkest legal carbon - $260. With my Triton, I called them in the morning asking if they could squeeze me in, told them I live out of town, and they did it in 90 minutes.

Last question for now...
I hope to collect the car on Tuesday and am still keen on getting the windows tinted. The price through the dealer is $495 and I need to made a decision today if I want it ready by Tuesday.
Is this a decent price?
I contacted a few places yesterday evening by email for quotes (too late to call) - but I'm unlikely to get a response before Monday morning.
I think Rob charges around $350 using his best quality tint. I guess it depends whether you are the type that needs instant satisfaction or are time poor.carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic
I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums

1) I'll assume that you have used the windscreen washers but not to the extent that you think a refill was required (?)
2) I'll assume you have Xenon headlights fitted to your car (?)
3) I'll assume you have not read the manual (?)
If the above assumptions are correct then it may be because Xenon headlights have headlight washers fitted and I believe they operate automatically every few uses of the windscreen washers and use copious amounts of water when they work. The washer fluid capacity is about 4 litres.
Or you have a leak.
Sorry to be sarcastic but your request is a little bit sparse on background information.

No leak that I can see, was thinking that it was just using a lot of water for the few times I've used them and was hoping it wasn't a faulty sensor or something. I noticed the issue on the way into work so didn't have a chance to go through any sort of fault finding. I put in 3L last night.Vehicle: Octavia RS162 Steel Gray Wagon, Tow Bar, 18" Black Pack & Tech Pack

Just to check, you are putting in the VAG stuff right? From memory with my MkII you had to use their stuff from the dealer or you ended up with issues. I have never had to buy any as mine lasts the whole year somehow, but I don't have Xenons.

Get Care Care Products in Five Dock to do the interior / exterior protection. It will be slightly cheaper but much higher quality & longer lasting. They can probably hook you up with tint.
If not: Rob Salvia at Hunters Hill Window Tint is my go-to guy for tint. One of the best.

Never tried it although a couple months back on a wet evening with 3/4 throttle in 2nd gear, the car axle tramped so bad and the driver's door popped to the semi open (in between fully close and open) position, that scared me good!! All the doors were shut as it didn't show on the MFD and auto locked too. Never happened since.Current: 2015 Limestone Grey R Wagon DSG (MY16); Panoramic Sunroof
