I've had the car for less than 18 hours, and I haven't finished reading the manuals but ...

... how do you adjust the brightness of the dashboard lighting?? In the old RS, there was a dial on the dashboard but I can't figure out for the life of me how this new one works (and yes, I did try to quickly find it in the manual).

I know about adjusting the brightness of the infotainment screen, but at night on the open road I like to dim the lighting for the controls all of the way down. Looks like I have some playing around to do. Oh well, weekend + new Skoda = happy camper.

read the links. You adjust the dash lights via the infotainment menus. The brightness varies with the amount of ambient light.

Got it! Couldn't figure it out from the manuals but I went into the menus and played around.

As a driver, it's not very convenient. As I say, I like the brightness wound all the way down when driving at night in the country but then need it up again around street lights. Digging into menus is painful when driving, certainly not as neat as running your finger over a dial.

Ah but you see it's cheaper to remove that dial.

I just noticed there are no aluminum sill trims on the rear door sills on my RS... Is this normal?

Yep. I ended up ordering the rear set from Superskoda during their 20% sales.

I bought the rear sills from SuperSkoda as well, very easy to install (double sided tape) and enhance the look of the car, protect the paint from scuffing too.

I just realised what you are on about, the rear door sills. It's weird we don't get them, not sure if the UK does, as Skoda actually do make them. I have a nice scratch in our 2008 RS from my kids as there is nothing there at all, not even plastic ones. Really odd when you think about it.

Sounds like an issue afterdarker mine has never done that.

The canton I heard in the demo car sounds better than mine. I think my sub might be faulty it has almost no kick at all, and changing sub volume doesn't appear to change it at all

Mine does the exact same thing! Did you get it sorted?

Thinking of ordering these myself (as well as the ice scraper)... One question about be pic... What's the silver/light colored strip on the right hand edge? Is that just a reflection off a tapered edge of the black part or is it something else?

Yup, just a reflection. I highly recommend the boot netting system as well, extremely handy.
