Anyone know what battery type goes into the MK3 VRS key fob?

I just got a message on the MFD asking to change battery. Got the car end of Feb so 8 months battery life in total. Did others have similar experience?

7 months on both keys. Spoke to one of the Skoda mechanics and he reckons the keys don't constantly send signals to the car it need to be within 1.5m for the KESSY to work.

After reading this latest thread about draining Kessy key batteries my wife and I did a very unscientific test yesterday. She attempted to open the driver's door while I held the key; the door wouldn't unlock for her using the door handle until I was standing beside rear passenger door, so about 1 metre.

JB1 arrived today. Car now has about 1500km on it. Will install tomorrow and report back to see how it goes

Got notification that my order from late Aug is now in the build queue, I wanted a Jan build so that shows how far along orders are now. Also saw that in Oct sales, Skoda had 18% growth, Audi something obscenely high and VW down 6%. So the halo affect hasn't really touched them.

Had our original RS in for the big 105k service last week and the sales guy mentioned build is wk 2 in 2016, about where I wanted it. He reckoned it would arrive in May/June though which is odd, I would have predicted around late March/April if it gets on a boat by the end of Jan.

Anyone got approx times from when theirs was built to actual delivery? There are heaps buried in old threads, but supposedly in recent times the factory has increased output since mid year so curious as to whether it's sped up or not.

It's 2-3 months shipping. So best you can hope for really (if it's not built yet and on the boat) is 4 months.

In Australia, our orders get batched together in ~3 month lots. If you order at the end of the batch, you will get a faster turn around than ordering at the start.

I know April Is the end of one batch as I almost ordered in April, but held off a week and ended up 3 months later than I could have gotten. Dealers will not tell you this though.

I'd say 4-6 months would be likely now.

Hi all newbie here was lucky enough to purchase a my16 rs tsi dsg wagon blue with 18" blackpack and comfort pack. Collect this week was ordered as a demo but when I purchase only had 35kms. Can't wait!

I'm finding it a tad annoying on MY15 RS that when you're on sat nav mode, there is no reference to the radio station when changing, so you don't know where you're up to. You need to change your dash to view your media, then you can see it. There is plenty of room along the top of the main screen for a small bit of info like this. My rear view mirrors also do not dip on reverse, even though the option is ticked. Other than this, no complaints !
