Finally showed up, it was there since 5th Feb and departing on the 24th, arriving Melb 4/4th so late April at worst. I'd say it missed a boat otherwise it would have been here early March. April was my preferred time so all good.

Does anyone know why the storage box that was standard in the Mk2s isn't in the Mk3s? Ie is there something physicallly in the way? I was thinking about getitng the Oct mk3 version either under the driver or the passenger. I have the tech pack but not the comfort pack so non electric seats. Both at the moment have the stupid vest thing under them. I wasn't sure if there was an amp under one in the way if you have the Canton system.

My MY14 with Tech Pack has it on the passenger side, so it definitely fits. The Canton amp is under the passenger floor as well.

I'm at 5,500km now on a manual RS wagon. I have the typical B-pillar/door rattle ~2000rpm. The frequency makes it very hard to pin down exactly where it is coming from. It is VERY annoying and becoming more and more common. Probably occurs 80-90% of the time when driving. I'm tempted to fix it myself as experience tells me to have zero confidence in workshop staff.

I also have the jerk that happens mid-throttle after a cold start. I expect it is just poor ECU programming from VW/Skoda, or a sensor was changed after programming and now gives a slightly different voltage signal to software version.

Your rattle could be the infamous fuel lines rattles. Does it sounded like it comes from the driver's side? Mine came back after a year hiatus, I suspect the cold weather might have a play.

I decided to fix it myself the day it happened, you will need 10mm socket and T25 bits to remove the plastic cover plate underneath the driver seat. You should see a channel that houses those lines. I stuffed insulation material to dampen the lines against the body panel. Worked like a charm, rattle is gone, for now.

A quick google search of 'mk7 GTI fuel line rattle' should yield you an instruction with pictures.

I have a manual but noticed its a bit jerky from when I picked it up new last month. Goes away once warmed up. Enough people have noted this that I'd say something isn't quite right but affects them all. No rattles thank god, I hate them. Well the sunroof does at the front under pretty bumpy conditions but so far not normal driving.

Hi All Octavia RS mk3 Owners!
I have hopefully placed a 'pre-order' for the RS 230 (RS169TSI) Manual Wagon in Steel Grey (Meteor Grey is the same, I think).

Just have a few questions about Specs/Options, VCDS.

I have a copy of the RS230 UK Brochure (link below) and just want to know what some of the options details.

If you have an option on your car and if you feel its worth while, please let me know. I am unsure when I will be 'building' the spec sheet, all depends on Skoda AU I guess.

Options,
- Cornering front fog lights, I'm guessing it a factory option, but this can be done via a VCDS I believe? Worth turning on?

- Crew protection assistant and rear side airbags (Senses when an impact is imminent and closes windows and sunroof to
protect passengers from objects entering the car as well as tightening the seatbelts ensuring occupants are in the safest position), I'm interested in the rear airbags, Does not having this option mean there wont be rear airbags? or does this option have extra airbags? (No sunroof and normally drive with windows up)

- Bluetooth®+ (Voice control and wireless aerial connection to boost signal and prolong battery life.), Not a big phone user when driving but interested to know if someone has it and sees the benefit.

- Canton sound system (Includes digital equaliser and 10 speakers including subwoofer in boot), Has anyone heard both? I would hope the Canton is better, but much better?

- Columbus satellite navigation system, Standard is Amundsen, Is there much difference?

- SmartLink & SmartGate, Drivers have android phones is it worth setting up?

- Front assist, This is slow speed braking (anti crash) type of thing? (eg Ford city stop)

- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Worth while?

- Intelligent light assistant with high beam control, I think this would be good.

- KESSY - Keyless entry and start system, Worth it?

Options I'll be asking for:
- Temporary space saver spare wheel
- vRS colour
- Double-sided boot floor (I believe most people get this)
- Rear-view parking camera
- Electrically operated boot

VCDS,
There are a lot of options out for this, and have read a lot, I guess I need to find someone that has done them all and can comment on all there features. I'm in Brisbane and have been told a few locals already, but the more the merrier right?

I also need to know what Hardware options are needed for some VCDS enabling, thats the info I cant seem to find.

Black out all Badges (plasti dip)
Clear Film Paint Protection (3M?)

I have also read the 'Run in thread' very interesting and will be do some sort of 1000km trip using the ideas suggested, then an oil change.

Most of the things you have listed are standard here.

The tech pack will get you KESSY/Canton/ACC/front assist. Light assistant I don't think we got before but the camera I discovered behind my mirror. High beam doesn't appear to turn itself off. As it seems lane assistant is not included with tech pack you probably get it.
Electric boot is optional.

Doubt you will get a 230. I asked and was told no by Skoda Aus.

If you have the lane assist camera then i believe that you can enable Headlight Assist through VCDS. You can also enable Traffic Sign Recognition as well, as long as you have Columbus.

Good luck if you can but I was told now after placing a order as well. I then tried to get the 4x4 tdi 135 VRS but agin got knocked back. Probably cause I tried to order it in Skoda rally green. The spec is the same as a 220 it's just the black back is standard and the wheels a re black. Plus the extra 7 kW the 220 already has the extra XDL like the golf hit pp so it's not as much extra on the Aus spec cars as it is in the uk.

How long ago did you ask about an RS230?
At a dealer or Skoda AU HQ?

All the dealers I have spoken to (about 5 so far) have no idea about what they actually sell (RS220 or the new RS230), maybe I always get the new guy... so I'm only going off the reviews and UK Brochure. (above in last post).
But where I have placed the pre-order seem very keen to help out.

I believe the RS230 has a Diff (Golf PP) rather than using the brakes as a diff. But I'm very new to this and as above, going off reviews and the UK brochure.

From what I understand, Yes basically the same as a RS220 with a 19inch black pack and 7kw/diff, which is what we were after in a RS220 (Steel Grey & 19inch Black pack) but missed out.

Smart1, Thanks for info, so I should get Columbus then...

Also the 2017 Models (Euro first I guess) will get Dynamic Chassis Control. Unsure If RS230 will we get it.

I was told by the dealer but that was from Skoda HQ to them.

Starting to get angry with Skoda Aus. After I was knocked back for a 230. I was going to wait on a new build in moon white as there where none in the country in the spec I wanted. I was told it could be as late as Sep and the build state would be the same as the cars in country. So I took a candy white that had just got of the boat. Only to find cars built a month later got lane assist. If the start bringing in the 230 now after I will be pissed.
