I've just today ordered a Skoda Octavia vRS Wagon DSG. ETA is April 2015. Yes long wait but I'm not in a hurry, so I guess it's ok.

$47500 drive-away in NSW for metallic, panoramic sunroof, RS leather seats, auto boot, tech-pack with rear view cam, 19" black pack, rubber floor mats set, plastic boot dish and extended factory warranty.

I think I got a great deal and if anyone wants me to PM a copy of my contract to help out during haggling. I'm happy to do so.

The floor mats and reversable boot liner come std in all oz spec octavias dont they? That was my impression anyway!

Surely you know a rego place that's a bit "forgiving". My last rego was a joke

****box needs brakes and a clutch. Don't want to drive it past rego expiry without the fixes. And it's missing an indicator cover from the front bar which would be forgiven.

Clutch is right until it completely goes(or in the case of a failed clutch - doesnt) (if its a ****box and the wreckers will be the next "owner").

Surely a cheap set of pads will make it sweet for a month of two? and a brake flush. Should be able to do that for under a hundred bucks by yourself if you are mechanically inclined.

I think you've done well with your negotiation. I've ordered a Hatch RS about 2 weeks ago, ETA is around March/April. We might get ours at around the same time .. here's hoping.

I think you can get cheap pads for popular makes for ~$20 set can't you?

I have been in contact with Skoda today and been advised that the build date for our car will be March 2015 which would mean that we wouldn't receive the car until June or July. If we changed from wanting a manual to a DSG gearbox then the build date would be moved up to January.
Not happy about this as we placed our order back in April. My next email will be to cancel our order and to get a refund for the deposit.
I'm now on the look out for a 2nd hand Audi A4 Avant with the assistance package

When i picked mine up the dealer said the wait times are killing them as they have a lot of people interested in the cars, they just can't stomach the wait. Only the stubborn folk (like me) and lucky ones are getting them.

That's insane ....... and you've ordered it back in April. I've ordered 2 weeks ago and it makes me wonder when or IF I'm going to get a 2015 build week at all. Hatch RS DSG, Black pack, Tech pack, Sunroof..

Just got off the phone with the dealer and he highlighted that cars with tech pack minus RVC were being built this month and cars with tech pack and RVC were being built mid October. Again the approximate December pick up date I was told about keeps pushing out. Now looking at January / February pick up date... The car was ordered in late June - just insane wait times!
