u gotta remember, when the dealer enters the order on skoda ordering system (NADCON Car Configuration), they use codes, not descriptions, to specify the build variant that is required. i don't know what the code is for "manual" vs the code for "dsg6".
for example, on the mk2, these were the codes (in brackets) for the option items:-
Park Distance Control Front [PDF]
Satellite navigation "Columbus" [SNC]
Fog lights with 'Corner' function [FLC]
Xenon Headlights [XN]
Alarm with interior monitoring [ALM]
Anthracite Grey [9J9J]
Black Magic [1Z1Z]
Brilliant Silver [8E8E]
Candy White [9P9P]
Corrida Red [8T8T]
Metallic paint [MP]
Pearl Effect Paint [PE]
Race Blue [8X8X]
Sprint Yellow [F2F2]
Electric Glass Sunroof [SR]
Leather Upholstery [LTH]
RS Onyx [VE]
Supreme Onyx Leather/Artificial Leather [VE+(PLG)]
Privacy Glass [PRG]
hence if the dealer entered the wrong codes, i.e. put the codes for manual, instead of dsg, the factory is going to build the car with a manual transmission. its an automatic system.
its hard for the factory to get the transmission wrong, because the transmission also determines the type of steering wheel that is fitted, i.e. with or without paddles.
my money is on the dealer stuffed it up and was hoping the customer wouldn't mind the dsg.
if i were venom_oz, i'd ask (from Skoda CZ) for a copy of the order they recieved from Skoda AU. this will show what was requested for build. u can atleast get screenshots. this will prove who made the error - the dealer, or the factory.
