    • Yeah. I have chosen every single option that delays the build! (Estate, Pano Roof, Tech pack(ACC/Front sensors)) If only I could get heated windscreen and seats like the UK, I think that would be everything!

If it was an RS, I assume the skoda order system would have just exploded, as it wouldnt be able to calculate a date that far in the future.

        Lucky you!
as its been previously mentioned, the ship voyage is 7 weeks (1.5 months) on its own. it can't b 30 days.
2-3 months after build is normal to expect delivery.

when I ordered mine, it was built in early sept, and I got the keys in my hands mid nov.
it was loaded on the vessel on 17/09. unloaded at port Kembla on 31/10. in my hands 15/11.

        • I count it as 35 days from Bremerhaven to Fremantle. 5 weeks. Is my maths out?

          • Which would line up with the ship's schedule posted above. That poster is in WA, which appears to be 2 weeks quicker than an east coast destination for delivery. 2 months for WA residents, and 2.5months (roughly) for East coasters would line up with both your schedules

Gotta be some advantage to living all the way over there right?

            • You can use wild card searches on the Wallenius Wilhelmsen shipping site to find out similar cars. For example, to search for all MY2015 cars, use a Cargo ID of TMB%F00%. If you want to search for RS wagons, use TMBKE9N%F00%. You will get a list of all the cars matching the search, and can click on the link to find which ship/port. My car was build week 30, so hasn't made it to WWL shipping yards yet.

The VIN is decoded roughly like:
              1. Region: T
              2. Country: M
              3. Manufacturer: B
              4. Series: K for Octavia III
              5. Engine: E for 162kW
              6. Restraint: 9 - number of airbags
              7. Model: N for Combi
              8. Don't know what the next character is for
              9. Check Digit: single digit, could be anything
              10. Year: F for MY2015
              11. Assembly Plant: 0
              Serial Number: last 6 digits

If you want to find out the model, you can past the VIN into this site: VW/Audi/Seat/Å koda VIN Decoder. If worked for my car.

And west coast only has an advantage for ships that go via South Africa. If we get one that goes via Panama, it is at see for 58 days.

Also, for anyone that ordered a Tech Pack without the reversing camera, my dealer is putting an on an after market one from Autofidelity that fully integrates like the factory one.
Current: 2009 Skoda Superb Elegance with all options including solar sunroof (selling soon...)

                  • Got a call from the dealer on Wednesday informing my car had arrived at the dealership. Organised pick up today and got all the paperwork in order. I couldn't sleep last night with all the excitement! This morning got the cheque ready and a fully charged camera and went down to the dealership. Received a very warm reception on a cold and wet Melbourne morning. Shook hands and went to see the car, it was love at first sight! Yes, I made the right choice and damn she looked HOT. Had a chat with the salesman and he took me around the car to show all the different features - I was over the moon. Sat inside the car and I had the proud new car owner daze.

I told the salesman I will spend a few minutes with the car, taking a few pictures before signing the documents. So he left me and went about his business. I was clicking away to glory land - interior and exterior. Finally I decided it was enough as I was getting a strange stare from some of the other customers. I closed the door and just before I was about to go and sign the documents something caught my eye. I frantically opened the door, dashed inside the car and yelled out NOOOOOOOOO... The dealership experienced a minor tremor and people turned to me to see what the issue was. I was nearly in tears as I walked to the salesman's cabin. Yes, it had to happen to me, I ordered a manual and they build an auto - the classic switcharooo!

I was fuming inside, but there was nothing the dealer, who was really apologetic, nor I could do now. He had placed the right order but Skoda stuffed it up in their frantic dash to fulfil backlogs. He offered me the car at a manuals price but I declined. I asked him to place another order right away with an ETA of another 3 months. I made it clear that I wasn't impressed at all and this needs to be registered with Skoda AUS and I expect a compensation. So there you go, my new car dream took a detour and the wait continues.

For anyone in Melbourne who is looking for a well spec'd car (see my signature) PM me and I can give you the details.

Ouch, that really blows. Sorry to hear mate.

I would push hard for some serious compensation. For all they know you may have sold your other car as you were told it had arrived, and therefore would have to purchase something else in the interim.

                      • Thanks mate. Yes, I intend to - Skoda AU and CZ are going to receive an earful on Monday.

                        • **** that sucks. I would lose my **** if I waited 6 months and mine turned up as an auto.

Does anyone know when the RVC becomes part of the tech pack? Be a nice bonus for waiting this long.....

                            • The worst part is, they know they have you over a barrell.....worst case is a "lost" sale, which they will easily sell the DSG car....(especially with tech pack!)

                              • 3 months for another one seems very optimistic too, they spend 2 months on the water and in ports either end. Dealers seem to change the estimates between build and delivery to suit there needs...

"It'll be here in 3 months, sign here!"
                                3 months later
"Congrats your car has been built!" "I thought you said it'd be delivered by now" "No I'm pretty sure I said built all along"

Also, I'm seeing more and more stories about factory orders of Golfs being just as bad. Its nice to know our orders aren't only ones in the same boat (or not in any boat at all )

Also press release on the factory holiday through Aug.
