now that I have an obd2 tool, I decided to find out what my actual 0-100 time was.
run 1 = 6.78 secs
run 2 = 6.2 secs
run 1 was in 'D' mode.
run 2 was in 'S' mode with launch control.
hp figure is "atw". I wonder how accurate that is.
will b interesting to see what difference, if any, the dsg software upgrade (soon to b done - hp performance currently have my dsg file) will yield.

so the 1st attempt to upgrade the dsg software was not successful.
Drive mode was good.
Manual mode was good.
Sport mode however was not. When selecting 2nd gear, it would disengage!!
so the dsg software was reverted back to stock, while the engineers at HP Performance try and figure out why this is happening.
that same morning, they did a mk6 GTi with no issues.
not sure what is different on the dsg-6 (dq250) in the vRS, compared to the GTi.
the normal process is:-
1. read (using a special tool) the dsg file off the car (via a data port directly on the dsg unit, accesible by removing the air box).
2. the file is then sent to hp performance, along with the list of mods (tune, exhaust etc etc) done to the car.
3. hp performance then create a new dsg file, which is taylored specific to the car.
4. file gets sent back (next business day) to apr dealer, to be loaded into the dsg unit in the car.
5. enjoy
unfortunately mine failed after step #4, during the test drive by the mechanic. he even tried reloading the file a second time, no good - 2nd gear would not engage!
hence he reverted the dsg software as he was not happy with the results of his test drive.
fingers crossed next tuesday apr have good news for me.MY17 Superb 162TSI, Business Grey, Tech+Comfort Pack, APR ECU+TCU Stg 1, SLA, Rieger Splitter + Side Skirts, Eibach Pro-Kit Springs, Hardrace Swaybar, TPMS

The max HP reading at 4,800rom will be wrong, as you car should still be making horsepower up until about 5800-6000rpm before dropping off. The actual max HP number of 198hp seems a little low, i would think more like 215-220hp considering your mods, but who knows.
And if you are doing 0-100kph in 6.2, then you should be doing something like 14.5-15.0 second 1/4 mile times, not 17 seconds.

The bit I noticed is that there's 0.3s difference between 0-60mph & 0-100kph. 100k is 62.1mph. 0.3 seems a long time to gain 2.1mph relative to the overall acceleration. Or am I just effed in the head?carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic

The car requires a change into 3rd gear at about 95kph, so the time difference is likely the change into 3rd to hit 100kph.

neither did i take note of the gear changes. next time i'll take note.
regarding the hp reading at 4.8k rpm surpirsed me too. it was still pulling hard heading into the 6k rpms.
according to torque-pro, the best way to accurate hp & torque, is to "start from a slow rolling start (about 8 kmph to 15 kmph) and accelerate until about 88 kmph. This will give you the most accurate peak value for your vehicle."
maybe a few more runs to get a more accurate measure.
i wonder if its possible to download & analyse the logs of the torque pro tool.Last edited by dArK5HaD0w; 24-01-2014, 03:36 PM.MY17 Superb 162TSI, Business Grey, Tech+Comfort Pack, APR ECU+TCU Stg 1, SLA, Rieger Splitter + Side Skirts, Eibach Pro-Kit Springs, Hardrace Swaybar, TPMS

finally....after an initial false start and a few weeks later - the dsg tune is in!!
just when I thought I couldn't smile any more cheek to cheek.....oh boy!! even the mechanic at cvvwc had a big grin after taking it for a test drive after writing the dsg tune!! and he's done a few dozen GTIs.
the gear changes r noticeably quicker. drive mode is less reluctant to hurry into 6th. sport mode is the biggest difference - its now enjoyable!!
rather than a screaming lunatic, it sounds like a predator hunting down its prey!!!!
phwoaarrrr!
here's what the DSG performance tune does:-
- Modified torque limiter & torque capacity upgrade 450 – 500nm
- Modified D - Drive mode for better drivability (gear closely matched to engine load & vehicle speed)
- The S - Sport program is "lowered" for better usability
- Faster shift response (especially for the older models)
- All new software is based on the newest VAG version
- Clutch shudder is dramatically reduced
- Longer life of gearbox & clutch packs, less clutch slipLast edited by dArK5HaD0w; 17-02-2014, 06:53 PM.MY17 Superb 162TSI, Business Grey, Tech+Comfort Pack, APR ECU+TCU Stg 1, SLA, Rieger Splitter + Side Skirts, Eibach Pro-Kit Springs, Hardrace Swaybar, TPMS
