even the skoda accessories website states that headlights need to be realigned after fitting these.
so now i gotta book it in with the dealer n get it done.
spoke to the vw service centre, and the earliest they can do it for me is april 13th

i wonder if canberra vw centre (cvwc) can do this job?
didn't think of them till now. will give them a buzz trow n find out.

here is a pic of the front self-levelling sensor. its on the passenger side. u can see it with the wheels turned to the right on full lock.
notice how the arm is on an angle. thanks to the 30mm lower ride height up front, the sensor arm is compressed/bent more than its usual postion.
the rear sensor arm is not compressed as much because it was a 20mm drop.
but because there was already a 10mm difference between front & back before lowering, the end result is a 20mm difference between the two now. making the sensors think the front of the car is constantly on a "20mm" high speed hump.

if the dealers can't realign the headlight the conventional way, the only other option would be to pop the arm off, and shorten it.

                    few more updates......

                    1. upgraded my columbus (rns510) firmware from 2724 to 4024. thanks to kamold. details here.

                    2. put on some decal stickers. the rear ones were a bit more tricky as the surface wasn't flat.

i had an extra one, so i put it here.....

Is updating worth it? What differences are there? I'm a bit hesitant getting involved with VW electronics and their software haha!

considering it takes about 30-40 mins just to update the firmware, then another 15-20 mins to reload the maps, then another infinite amount of time to reload the music - NO, for the amount of differences u actually see.

speed.....can't say "its way better". it does seem smoother though with the navigation & maps.
while i was at it, i loaded Personal POIs. this is nice.

                        these r the apparent new features;
                        - NEW Faster navigation and user interface
                        - NEW Automatic illumination control
                        - NEW Enhanced destination input
                        - NEW hold down the setup button for 30 seconds and get the following menus: FM, AM and the new VERSION INFO
                        - NEW Compass
                        - NEW POI

Also, I think with the new firmware you can upload custom POI's easier? I remember with my old firmware the POI's wouldn't work.. Just froze the system.. with the new one you can upload the POI's etc. I've got some that show where the nearest Shell w/ premium is..
