Mine's a July 2011 build MY12. Got the Dunlop SP SportMaxx GT+.
Being my first slimline tyres, I don't know what the rest are like... But these are pretty damn good.
2012 Octavia vRS TDI. Darkside big turbo, 3bar tune, other stuff. 200kW/650Nm.
1990 Mk1 Cabrio. 1.9 IDI w/ 18PSI.
1985 Mazda T3500 adventuremobile. 1973 Superbug. 1972 Volvo 144 in poo-brown.
Not including hers...
Had to remove the aftermarket Bluetooth unit as there is a problem with A2DP streaming.
In the process of doing so I had to remove the glovebox. To my disappointment I found the source of my cabin squeak. When the dealer (who is now out of business it seems) had it installed, they managed to break off a mounting point for one of the screws
Problem is this is part of the whole dash assembly so would be a major job to replace.
I went to Rockdale Skoda to pickup the map DVD that the dealer didn't give me (v4.1 but at least it's original) an spoke to the service adviser about it. He is going to look into it for me.
To be honest I don't want to have the dash replaced I would be happy with a metal bracket being fashioned and bolted onto the plastic where it can be safely attached.
Will see what Skoda have to say about it...

I used to do the dash replacements when I was on the tools. In that workshop at Rockdale by coincidence.
It certainly needs a particular type of mechanic to do it successfully. Slightly OCD, very organised, extremely patient & clean. I used to hate it when they'd assign somebody to "help" me. It's also nice if you have the manual.

Realise its very difficult to tell just from one photo, but would you think a small metal 90degree angle bracket could be bolted safely to the intact plastic in order to re-mount the glovebox?

Yes, that's how I would attempt a fix if the owner was in agreement and if there was enough material to attach to.
I doubt I'd use bolts - If I was doing it at home I'd fabricate a bracket & use rivets with washers under the head (stop it pulling through the plastic 2-4 each leg. I'd definately use some glue - liquid nails or similar. Something that won't dry out & crack.
But I'm a dodgy mechanic and went from cars to aircraft & had my eyes opened as to what craftsmanship is - the best person to ask would be an aircraft structures / sheetmetal person. Those guys would have some brilliant idea that craps all over mine.

I told the service guy I would be happy with a repair of that nature rather then a dash replacement (which is likely to just introduce more squeaks) so I'll see what he says.
If I have to just cop it sweet then there may be a case or two headed your way brad if you're interested

IMO if there is something broken under warranty, it should be replaced, or repaired to an as-new condition - which would probably mean replacement
dashboard replacements arent THAT big a deal, mostly they are a skin over a metal brace anyway. and yes the manual helps
I see your point but my perspective is that if the mechanic is not as dilligent as someone such as Brad, the potential to end up with more problems than before a dash replacement is real. As I can see exactly what the issue is and a potential way to fix it permanently I would prefer that option...

Got my Octy back from the bumper repair yesterday. Totally NOT happy with the repair work. Typical insurance job, rushed and very poor.
Clearcoat is full of bubbles and fisheyes, and trapped dust/dirt. Rear tailgate had dried polish EVERYWHERE, as some monkey had obviously buffed it The staff member at the repair centre actually tried to tell me "oh that must have been there before." There are small scratches and rub marks in several places from hamfisted technicians not being careful when fitting/buffing the bumper. Plastic trim in the boot is filthy, covered with dirty hand marks, things not put back in their factory location. One of the brand new reflectors that they fitted has a huge scratch right through it.
EDIT: Found even more dodginess, a wiring harness in the rear is just hanging out, there is a missing fastener, 2 other loose fasteners, and the biggest run in the clear coat that you've ever seen in your life. My blood is boiling right now.
I told him that I thought the repair was sh*t and that I wasn't happy with it, he offered to have it re-done. I declined, as I did not want to chance getting it back even worse than before. Instead I am taking it up with the insurance company, and making it their responsibility to fix this up. When they sent me to this particular repairer, I had a bad feeling it would come out this way. This repairer is one of those huge places which deals with fleet car repairs and such, large volume, very high speed repairs. I.e. 'good enough for people who don't give that much of a fsck about their car' repairs, not high quality repairs where they take pride in their work.
Feel like strangling the kid who ran into the back of me!
I measured the height of my front guards today, as I am suspicious that my car has the wrong springs. The Octy TDI wagons @ work sit lower than my TSI vRS. Could anyone who has a vRS wagon with the standard suspension and standard wheels assist?? All I need is the measurement from ground (hopefully level concrete or similar) to the lip of the guard at the highest point of the front wheel arches. Mine are 680 LHS & 679 RHS.
Thank you in anticipation for your help.
From Elsawin wheel alignment section. - measurement from centre of wheel to top of wheel arch (or lip, as you said).
