Cranks, you have the slimline ballasts which I think are more modern (more digital) than the older, fatter ones.

I have some the same as yours (but 35 watt) which I'll try at some stage and report on.

Just an update on halogen-replacement HID performance, in regards to replacement of BCM (Body Control Module)

Just hit 13,000km, 3.5 months of vehicle ownership.

        Everything is A-O.K.

Threw another Body Control Module, I think.
Same symptoms as before. Front right indicator stuck on with half power, even when car is off and locked.

Having it looked at when its in for the 15,000 service, next Friday.

Remove all your aftermarket HID kits. I believe this is the cause.

Next step - Looking at ways to retrofit the factory-option HID units. Even if its without the AFS and auto-levelling.

Superskoda sell them. About 800euro without globes I think.

                  dats a big job.
u'll b looking at the following parts:-
                  1. 2x headlight assemblies with built-in afs
                  2. Globes for both low & high beams.
                  3. 2x headlight leveling sensors. 1 front axle & 1 rear axle
                  4. 1x afs control module. sits behind the climatronic controls.

then there is the wiring loom to connect all this up.

big job = pain in the a55 + lots of $$$$

Cost is going to be amazingly prohibitive. I doubt I can be bothered going full retrofit. :/

                    1. Assemblies MAY not be required, if I can put the D2S bulbs into the stock unit. Besides, I know how to manually adjust the headlight level so as to not blind people on everyday roads.
                    2. High beam globes (H1) are the same as on the halogen lamp housing.
                    3. Will ask at the service desk, but I'm 95% sure I won't bother.
                    4. As above.

Another point of thought is the headlight washers, but I was considering looking at fitting those anyway.
Either that or I'll do what was done on the Bumblebee. Faux headlight washer panels.

if you can live without the auto-height and washers, you can remove the fitting unit from the back of the lens.

4 screws to change the globe/burner mount

I was thinking about a bi-xenon conversion, but I don't know where the motors for the levelling are.

When I can finally work out how to get the plug off the headlight unit, I might pull the thing apart and have a real proper look.

When I'm in for the 15,000 service, I might ask the service techs if they can tell me where to wire a set of driving lights up to.
Halogen high beams are horrible. XD

                          A little update on things.

So, I went ahead and NightShade'd my entire front grille.
In hindsight, would have done better just leaving the Skoda and vRS logo's uncovered and let them be painted. The tape I used to mask them... Lets not speak about that.

                          Photos!

I also added some switches for the Rigid Industries Dually D2's I'll be installing behind the bumper at some stage in the future. Better to get it out of the way early, right?
See if you can spot them.

i like the grill! want to do something similar to my own.

is it just the shadows or is the inside of your headlights black also?

friends of mine were doing it to their stageas, IMO looked fantastic. its like mascara for your car

                              Nightshade tinting spray.
Am yet to do the tail lights... Haven't yet worked out how to remove them from the car. XD

To be completely honest, I need to remove ALL of it, and completely redo it. I did a bit of a shoddy job in a couple of spots, and didn't apply it correctly in others.

Looks amazing from a few metres away, but once you actually get up close you can tell how bad it is. Actually shames me some.
Now I need to work out how to take it off... :S
