hmmm.... AS better deliver soon, now that they have 26k in their pockets for these units that have yet to be delivered.... this unit better blow my mind after this long of a wait

So I found out what the delay is about today, apparently they have encountered an issue with CAN-Bus updates. One of the advantages of the DNS unit is that the CAN-Bus is also software update-able, but they discovered an issue where occasionally updating the CAN-Bus can cause a glitch that effectively bricks the unit. They're manually making an adjustment to the CAN-Bus software so that future updates will not have this issue, I'm not clear on the exact process for this but they are proposing sending me half the order and another half in another week. I'll follow up again tomorrow, if that is how we proceed then I will send out units to the longest waiting customers in the first batch first.

Hey Sandy, do you think that those of us who didn't go for the initial batch will see our units before christmas?

Once they sort out the production issues it would be faster to fix the rest of the software, even if the software is not completely bug free, I will make a demo video early December so people can decide if they want the unit before Christmas.

The units that should have been shipped out last week is the first batch. As I have just posted, even if I don't consider the unit bug free in about a month's time I will post a demo video and let the remaining people decide. By then I would expect the bugs left, if any, to be only very minor or obscure.

My deadline is coming up rather quickly (November 30), so hopefully the first batch gets shipped out this week. Guess we'll have to see if it comes down to the wire or not.

Nope, what I mean is the setting that's usually just off/low/med/high for hi-pass filter when running a sub. In layman's terms: It skips the bass from playing on the speakers and uses the sub predominantly for lows

Umm. That is usually on the external amp and not on the headunit. If you are going to use the rca out it will pass the front, rear or sub signal to an amp where you can apply filters. If you use the built in amp I believe there is an ASP that can apply basic crossover.

I hope this unit has some sort of crossover built in, as I don't think everyone installing this unit is using separate Amp for their main speakers and sub(s) I know I'm not and I hope there is some sort of built in crossover like my past units have had. I know those aren't as good as what amps have but its better than nothing at all.

edit... actually I think there is a crossover built in, as I think in the preview video there was brief coverage of it.... maybe check over that video again to see.
