Group Buy / EOI new generation DNS head units (RNS-510 alternative)

The Poll at the top of the page caught my eye this afternoon, as it is getting close (at the time: 49 for Raffle; 41 for Money Back). Then I also noticed that there were 90 votes cast, when there are only 88 people on the confirmed list. Hmmmm. Now, there could be people missing from Sandy's list on the first page, which may explain the imbalance. So, I went through the confirmed list (I included those in EOI, to be on the safe side) and the list of those who have voted. I came up with the discrepancies (listed below). IMO, unless you're in the GB your vote shouldn't count (pending a review and update of the list)

Excluding those who aren't on any list, that would bring the tally back to 42 (67%) for the raffle option and 21 (33%) for the money back option. That is a bit of a difference. That also leaves about 25 people yet to vote (excluding the EOI, this time)

[I also left Hotbmwm3's vote in money back option, even though he pulled out of the GB]

I didn't vote, despite being in the GB, because I still don't really have a preference one way or the other haha.

Why should somebody in the group buy's vote not count? I voted what I would want and would have probably won me over but it didn't go my way so I'm not in the group buy. Not sure why potential buyers can't express which way they would like it to go.

For the same reason I can't vote in the French elections - because I'm not French. I could move to France and become French and then I'd get a vote.

If you were to join the group buy you'd get a vote but until then I'm not sure why someone not involved should get a say.

Exactly. If you want your opinion to count in the Poll, join the group buy. The poll was specifically for those people, not for people to express a passing opinion. We're the ones who are putting money up now.

The thing that is pissing me off with this is the lack of updates on WTF is going on.
If I had over $26600+ (38 fully paid + those who have paid deposits) of other peoples money I would be letting
everyone know what is going on daily, even if it's nothing.
Not knowing is starting to make me regret getting involved with this.

Not entirely correct because 3.5% is actually very high at the moment (i'm assuming its in a fairly low interest account anyways), and it wasn't $26,600 right at the beginning, and it's only been ~5 months, but still, it's a few hundred dollars.

Would have accounted to about ~$5 per person, so yea, not worth asking about :p Based on what I earn in interest (3.5%), I'm ~$8 out of pocket, had I not paid the full amount 4 months ago. Edit: I'm not saying i'd like an $8 discount, i'm just saying that's the cost of doing business on long term group buys like this one, and it was my own choice to pay in full some 4 months ago. I'm not really fussed, $8 is the cost of 2 and a bit coffees, at the time wage most people earn it's not even worth mentioning.

But that's besides the point, it would be great if we could get an update, Sandy.

Sorry about the lack of update guys, I've been quite busy recently and haven't been in a position to give updates everyday. I'm looking forward to closing this group buy too believe me, it was fine when I get an order every few days or week, but keeping track of everyone's orders and continuously chasing up Audiosources for this group buy is taking up almost all of my free time.

The weekend has gone again and all I've been told is that the initial batch are definitely in production, but they are not ready yet. I've only been able to speak to the sales rep for the most part this week, I will have to get onto the manager tomorrow. My impression is that they have some last minute things they want to check / fix before they release the units.

I am holding a fair bit of money for this group buy but they have been accumulated over time (didn't have $26,600 from day one). And as of a couple of weeks ago the money has been forwarded to Audiosources for the initial batch of the group buy. I am finding myself at the limit of my patience too, and I do apologise that you guys had to wait this long. I will provide you guys with an update as soon as I have more information, though you can probably see why I'm sometimes reluctant to announce Audiosources's promised dates... Unless they've been telling blatant lies this time though, they will at least be shipped next week.
