Likewise, haha. I recently went om a junket to Germany to visit a high end lighting manufacturer. Their manufacturing plant was amazing. Some of the robotics were so cool. I could have just sat there watching for hours.

I'd imagine things would generally be not quite as well oiled in China, but still interesting nonetheless.

any word on what the warranty is like on these hand made units? mine should be here tomorrow, just curious if there is an extended warranty on hand made units vs the mass batch

The warranty is the same for the standard units, that is standard 1 year and extended 2 years for $25.

If worse comes to worst and you're running out of time, i'm on holidays this week so I can come and pick up mine, might save time on packing one unit... but then again it mean more time waiting for some dude to turn up. Whatever works better for you *shrugs*

At this rate the unit won't be here until Friday morning and I'll just have to sort the orders and ship them before I leave, so I don't think there will be much difference if a few people picked up their units - they are shipped to me after all so they're already packed, I just have to put the right accessories with the right order and seal them up.

Yea so cool.... I just love that kind of stuff, better hope so after spending the past 6 years of my life at uni studying engineering :p I spent a few hours the other day watching videos of some of those fully automated CNC/Milling machines, so awesome.

Fair enough. Let us know when it gets closer to Friday if you're cool with us picking it up, would be nice to play with it over the weekend But I understand if you just want to get them packed and out considering you'll be busy/leaving on Friday, so either way is fine.

in a way I agree with Sandy, as with the time that's passed & frustrations that have come along with it for most of us, that a overall discount vs a raffle would be slightly better. seeing how I casted my vote a few months back when I figured the unit was to be set for release. oh well. my vote wouldn't change much haha seeing how its 51 to 48 or something close

Hmmm okay, iforget now if I opted forbthe additional warranty, o think I didbit can't remember, will have to look over my invoice again haha. The unit is on the delivery truck as I type so ishoukd have my first viewing of the unit in a few hours here, likely wont get it installed till tomorrow tho

The Aussie shipment has left Hong Kong and the status says "Customs Status Updated" on the DHL site so ours aren't too far away now either!

Cant wait for this thing to include the android mirroring, DAB+ and full integration on MFD (GPS turns etc).. then it will be the best thing going around so long as quality is there compared to the other knock offs out there..

Well i got mine. I live in canada though and I was hit with $62 in duty charge.
O well I hope to get it installed by friday.

Nice, let us know how it is. You canadians have strange import rules haha, but maybe it's us that has weird stuff, with the whole duty free under $1k thing. Dunno. We pay enough money for normal stuff as it is.

Not yet, only 2 of the canadian guys (kwalsh and raymond) have gotten theirs today. First 10 units are in Brisbane, for delivery to Sandy tomorrow, and then out to us. So we should be getting some solid impressions over the weekend.

Well I'm getting it installed right now. But I have the sd card in the slot and when I choose sd card on the unit it says no disc? What is wrong?
