Group Buy / EOI new generation DNS head units (RNS-510 alternative)
I will adjust the non-refundable date accordingly when I get the demo video up. Sorry about the delay, Audiosources wanted to fix some bugs up before they give me the latest software for a demo - I do wish they would give me more of a heads up instead of telling me it's not quite ready a day or so before the promised date. I understand if some of you are getting nervous or impatient, but rest assured I'm pushing them hard too and we're now just counting days.
I was in communication with Audiosources regarding the ANS810 and was told that iPhone 5 is not supported for BT functions such as phonebook dialling and music streaming. Does the DNS810 support iPhone 5?

I have an iPhone 5 and bluetooth music streaming is one of the features I want.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. My iPhone 5 works fine with every single double din unit I've used (eonon, caska, original crappy Chinese audiosources unit) etc.
It uses the standard Bluetooth protocol, so nothing should be different.
iPod in of course requires the lightning to 30pin adapter, which again, works fine for every unit I've used.

DkN's post #63:
Yes of course, but you will need a lightning adapter for iPhone 5.

I think sometimes some things get lost in translation when you speak to the Audiosources reps in English. The sales rep probably thought you were asking whether the unit is compatible with iPhone 5, which technically it isn't without a lightning adapter. Bluetooth streaming has no reason to fail unless iPhone withdraws A2DP compatibility altogether, and even Apple would never be that much of a d*ck.
Just a reminder that it's based on actual orders - many people sitting in that list still have not signed on since initially expressing interest. However, I do have 68 orders that are confirmed, 9 still without deposit (they could potentially still be out, but most on the confirmed list should pull through) - so you're safely sitting on 3 free raffle units so far with possibility of a 4th if more people are lurking around waiting for that demo video
P.S. bugging the manager multiple times a day about the software...
I have been in touch with a UK supplier I know who also supied the older ans unit here in the UK about the new dns units. Apparently they have been told to expect a release date around the end of august or september. Can you ellaborate on this?
P.s. when can we expect a demo video as I like many others am very keen but would like to see it in action first.
I hear ya. I'm getting a little ancy, I may just have to install the ans 810 I have here waiting to be used by my dad (Christmas gift haha). I may just have to test it out for him if this unit gets delayed any longer
