My ans may just get installed and see if I like it enough to pull out of this ordeal, as its been 2 months now since I've made payment and its been nothing but delays after delays. If it gets into September with no end in sight that may just happen

Sorry about the delayed update guys, came down with the worst flu on Friday. Just getting a bit better now.
I just got off the phone with the supplier. So apparently the demo unit I have is an early one which has different hardware to the finalised unit, which may explain some of the software issues I'm having that are preventing me from making that video. In the meantime he will have software that should fix all the issues on Monday, and if this does not solve the problem for my unit he will send out a new sample unit to me right away. Through DHL express this would only take 3-4 days. Tuesday is the day that they will supposedly finalise everything and schedule for production, which will commence within 2 weeks.
In the meantime I did some negotiating and on top of the new free units up for raffle, everyone will receive a further $20 discount. Those who paid in full by direct deposit will need to send me their bank details or an alternative paypal account for me to refund the money, otherwise everyone else can simply take $20 off their remaining balance.
I hope that helps a bit with the situation but I understand everyone's impatience, and I apologise again for the delay.TR 08 Golf GT TDI, Custom Code Phase 1, Milltek Exhaust, Whiteline RSB + ALK, APR Carbonio Intake

Well some news is better than no news
So assuming that it's all go, 2 weeks, ish, from Tuesday (so to be safe, the week ending September 13), and then another 5-8 days to account for delivery from China to you to us? So we're looking at mid to late September for delivery, assuming their production gets up and running on finalised software/hardware?
$20 discount is nice, better than nothingMY10 Golf Mk6 103TDI DSG Candy White | Revo Stage 1 ECU Tune | 18" Talladegas | GTI Front/Rear/Exhaust | R LED Taillights | GTI Steering Wheel | VW Discover Media | Focal IFVW Front Speakers | Mk7 Climatronic Panel |

I assumed that the hardware was sitting in a warehouse waiting for small tweaks to be made to the software.
Can you confirm that the hardware units we are getting have not been built yet?
I'm currently weighing up the options, I can buy from LSQ Star for $375
They advised me two weeks ago that delivery would be mid September
I don't know what information LSQ Star has been feeding you, but I have explained what they do and their level of service before. I also know for a fact they can't sell this unit for $375 without making losses - they don't even sell the ANS series for that low. AFAIK Audiosources hasn't even released prices for the DNS series to LSQ Star. They most likely were quoting you prices for ANS, and then at bulk price. If you take a look:
Aliexpress.com : Buy LSQ Star Car DVD Player for ANS810 Golf 6 ,Scirocco, Passat, with OPS/IPAS/Door status and phone number showed on the dashboard! from Reliable car dvd player for ANS810 golf6 suppliers on Shenzhen LSQ Star International Co., Ltd.
That's US $510 or AUD $560 for one and it's ANS-810, not DNS.Last edited by DkN; 26-08-2013, 12:00 PM.TR 08 Golf GT TDI, Custom Code Phase 1, Milltek Exhaust, Whiteline RSB + ALK, APR Carbonio Intake

They have always built to order, the hardware needs to be purchased in bulk somewhere in the thousands and just sit there waiting to be assembled. It only takes 2-3 days for small orders and a couple more days for bigger ones, they just queue production according to orders.

Dunno why you would bother. Sandy is more knowledgeable, local and to be honest, probably has significantly higher buying power .MY10 Golf Mk6 103TDI DSG Candy White | Revo Stage 1 ECU Tune | 18" Talladegas | GTI Front/Rear/Exhaust | R LED Taillights | GTI Steering Wheel | VW Discover Media | Focal IFVW Front Speakers | Mk7 Climatronic Panel |

Hey Sandy have you heard any more about the possible polarized (or was it just anti reflective?) screen protector you mentioned earlier? Would it be like one of those aftermarket types that you peel the backing off and slap on or would it be done a bit better and placed under the plastic bezel? I'm guessing it would be like oem, ie not super smooth like glass but slightly rough, for lack of better wording?

Im sure the service Sandy offers is better
It's hard to know if the difference between $375 and $700 is worth it
The $375 is a price for five units shipped to Victoria, I need three myself and I was going to sell two
It's hard to know what to do.
The long wait and constantly changing delivery date has been really frustrating.
1) It's obviously not DNS, obviously ANS (Why the hell would you buy from someone who doesn't know what they're selling? Shady as hell. Plus it's been mentioned that Audiosources don't like her as a seller)
2) It's been well documented that she has rubbish CS (and would probably be a nightmare to talk to, language barrier and all)
3) Sandy obviously knows much more about the DNS and how it's tracking than she does.
4) Sandy has better buying power (on account of the fact that he's doing a single order of 80+ units, where as she would be doing small lots).
5) The long wait and delivery date push back is on account of Audiosources, not Sandy. LSQwhatever would be facing the same issues, if she's even legit.
Really, it's a no brainer. LSQwhatever is an unknown, unknowledgeable, shady, chinese dealer.... no way in hell i'd touch her with a 50ft pole.
Edit: Just to be clear, I'm not meaning this to be an attack on you hotbmwm3, I was just trying to point out what are to me the flaws in your plan.
Only thing we can do is sit back and wait for Audiosources and Sandy to come through with the goods.... we're at the mercy of Audiosources, not sandy, so it doesn't matter where you get it from, you're still gonna wait. It makes sense to me, for the reasons I pointed out above, to stick with Sandy, who has been good with this community, instead of trying an unknown, and apparently unreliable source with the potential lose money.Last edited by moda; 26-08-2013, 09:28 PM.MY10 Golf Mk6 103TDI DSG Candy White | Revo Stage 1 ECU Tune | 18" Talladegas | GTI Front/Rear/Exhaust | R LED Taillights | GTI Steering Wheel | VW Discover Media | Focal IFVW Front Speakers | Mk7 Climatronic Panel |
