If you could get a confirmation that it will play those files from SD card, that'd be great. Pioneer headunits have been doing it since about 2006. I'd need to be sure as the main reason I'd swap out the stock unit would be that I don't have to re-encode 90% of the music every time I want to put it in the car.

Also, I have seen the post about the NAV earlier on but you have also mentioned that this new model will have a more OEM interface - Does this apply to the NAV also?

Steering wheel controls work to skip tracks in BT music stream mode.

The navigation is not VW, it is iGo Primo 2. It's a much better system than VW's own (which by modern standards is rather poor). However, being a third party navigation software that is in no way affiliated with VW, the interface would not be VW style, if that's what you mean.

You can use any GPS software you wish to use, all you need to do is point to the software path in system settings.

DAB+ will come as an add-on module at a later date.

What is the date the units ship from china to you, and what date will deliveries start being sent from Brisbane?

Can you please update the thread when the units leave China.

Once I place the order with the factory it will take time to process and produce the units. I would estimate about 2 days, and after that it would take another 3-5 days to reach me, and then 2-5 business days (depending on distance from QLD) to arrive at your door.

I will keep everyone informed, though at this stage I am still waiting for the latest software update so I can get that demo video up. It's a little frustrating considering how close it is to the release date, and I may have to push back the order date a bit to allow those waiting for demo videos to get a chance to look before they decide.

The unit runs WinCE 6.0. iGo and Sygic are the most common GPS systems of choice.

I will ensure those who want to see a video still gets a chance to join the group buy, don't worry.
