Hardly surprising given that it seems the software was still being developed as of a week ago. But I think everyone can agree we'd rather not be beta testing rushed units. Let's hope a delay = better product.

True, especially since the latest bug involves bench flashing. Once it's done and the upgrades can be pushed out over USB/SD, then we should be fine.

My deadline is 30th of November, so getting pretty close :s Otherwise if it ships between then and Christmas, i'll have to somehow carry it with me on carry on for my flight back in the new years.... but after that I won't be home until March :s

Really hope I can get it before I leave on the 30th though, since i've got a hectic road trip ahead of me... if it comes down to the wire, may have to work out picking it up directly from Sandy, instead of waiting the extra day or two from shipping from him to me in the same city haha.

I am starting to think this is realistic too. I think AS told Sandy about the DNS when it was just off the drawing board. I am weighing up my options as I'm not sure how much longer I am prepared to wait. I think I will end up with an OEM RCD/RNS-510 but I am not sure at the moment.

I wouldn't expect this class of software to ever be "bug free." I'd say they'll be rolling out a new model well before the point you'd start using terms like that.

Sorry guys, had some personal business to take care of and have been running around all weekend.

The units didn't ship this week, they are still working on the CAN-Bus thing. I know they've promised next week before many times but the units are literally sitting in their factory waiting for this one final thing before they are released out so I can't see them having any more excuses to drag it on another week.

I'm pretty sure I was told about this DNS unit when it was just an idea in the manager's head. Some time last year I was told they had this plan to have a dual core unit out by around January. Then January became March and later June, though now it's apparent that in June all they had was a very early build of the dual core unit running the ANS software (i.e. they haven't even started developing DNS software yet). I have no idea why the manager then had thought the unit would be ready in July, but I sure am not trusting his word on release dates anymore.

As for bug-free software, it's Audiosources's plan to release the unit officially approximately 3-4 weeks after the first batch is released. This official release is not necessarily 100% bug-free but all major issues that I have outlined in the pre-release demo will be fixed. I will post a full demo at that stage and show any leftover bugs I can find so everyone is fully informed, but as I said even the sample unit I have now is perfectly fine to use without any stability issues.

Easter is probably a realistic deadline for features like full ID3 based library and MFD navigation direction display.
