Hi guys, I've taken my 2007 Golf V 2.0 FSI to the shop to get the timing belt + water pump replaced.

Good evening all, hope you are well.

After hours of searching I have come...

Replace entire drive shaft or CV joint boot?
My Mark V GTI has just ticked over 100000km. A few months ago my regular mechanic said the boot needed replacing but best to replace the entire drive shaft due to the time it takes to remove and replace it. Cost: $575 parts and labour. Third party drive shaft I imagine.

Balance shaft hex key question
Hi all,
I'm just wondering if you can replace the balance shaft hex key in situ. I've droped the sump and it seems all I need to to is remove the circlip, pull the old hex key and insert the new one with a new circlip. There seems to be enough room and it saves alot of messing about....

My Q is: as I'm rotating the drive shaft to get access to the gearbox end bolts, being a 4Motion, can the back wheels be left on the ground so it can rotate??? I'm unsure as never done the on a AWD...
